It does put out the true 100+ watts, in full sun I was reading around 5.1 Amps at 20 Volts according to my DMM, in full Southern California sun. I am running it along with 3 other panels of lower wattage and my charge controller reduces the voltage going into my batteries to around 14.2 volts but even then we had a day when the power company was doing some work, so no grid power that day but I was able to run my 32" (LCD) TV and a fan all day. It was running just off the panels, (the total wattage of all my panels is 160 watts) I know this because my controller has an indicator that lights if there is any draw on the batteries. I shopped around quite a bit before deciding on this particular panel and this is the best price I could find for a 100 watt panel. There are cheaper ones out there but they are usually poly-crystalline ( They have that kind of sparkly look to them, if you've seen them) but I prefer Mono-crystalline panels simply because I feel there is less opportunity for substrate failure with the mono-crystalline panel surface. These arrived with MC4 type connectors already installed as well as TWO reverse blocking Diodes installed in the junction box on the rear of the panel, the wires that come with it are about 3 feet long, you can buy extra MC4 connectors here on desertcart to hook up additional length as your needs require. Overall I consider this a very good purchase and I will be buying more as soon as I can afford to increase power panel capacity. What is the max charge this item can produce?** A: In Full sun light it can produce 4-5 amps at about 18-20 volts. Doing the math 4x18=72 watts. I did measure under ideal conditions 20V and about 5A. Doing the math 5x20=100 watts. But But realistically under most conditions the average out put on a give full Sun cloudless day it is more like 4A and 19 volts. 4x19=76watts. Every installation and location is efferent, but this is a rough theoretical estimation. I fireguard on the slightly lower side as dust on the panels and in the air, haze and clouds (often there are high thin clouds that are not easily seen on a bright day). Also remember if you use a charge controller made for solar panels, like I do( Amazon has some $20 dollar ones for small arrays liket I use), The controller will very the charging current as needed to charge the battery. So when you install the panels place them so you get the most Sun Light for the longest time in both summer and winter. The angle of the Sun on the panel can vary greatly if the panel is mounted in a fixed position. This is the easiest mounting method and the most common method. It is less expensive and low maintenance as there are no motors or moving parts. Figure about a 20-23 degree angle of the panel to the Sun as the earth is tilted about that much. This change through the year, but is a good rough guide to start. You may want to do something different at your location. I use two of them and charge two 146 amp hour deep cycle batteries and my panels are not tilted as I live in an apartment and cant mount them like I would like to do. On Sunny days the two panels can take two to four days to fully charge the TWO Batteries depending how much I use the during any given day. But remember my Installation the panels are in a sheltered place and NOT Tilted. So I think if the two panels were mounted like they need to be( As I suggested above) they would work better.
