I am here to repurchase, because after exactly two years of daily usage my flosser finally broke! Goodbye, red plastic champion. After Little Red broke this morning, I attempted the flossing process manually, like a farm-hand, and couldn't even make it seconds through the treacherous endeavour. Frustrated, I decided I would let my teeth feel disgusting, rather than carry on with the awkwardness of cramming my (apparently gigantic) hands in the back of my mouth while my fingers endure a floss tourniquet. "No, not this." I would, instead, wait for the Amazonian hero to deliver my Red Nouveau. Is this flosser perfect? Hell no. It comes loose pretty much once or twice with every use. But despite this, I truly can't live without it now and am not sure there is better. It has made me a die-hard flosser after a lifetime of not even pretending to floss when speaking to people I wanted to impress, like my dentist or legendary actor and martial artist Steven Seagal. I see reviews that indicate this flossing apparatus is not the correct angle or can't reach. But I'll tell you, I recall that first awkwardness, and it gets much better with familiarity, eventually becoming a natural extension of you. The angle may not be what I pictured being ideal, but it works exactly as needed and I see no need for different. Give it a shot for a couple of weeks. Make sure to squeeze the flosser arms together a little, while winding, so it's quite tight. Start flossing on the bottom back teeth so that by the time you get to the sensitive top front teeth gums it has loosened the right amount for the gentler flossing needed there. And just a tip, because my dentist told me that most people floss incorrectly (defeating the purpose;) Don't just pull floss down the center of two teeth and pull right up. You must pull the floss up from the left and then also pull up from the right, so you're wrapping the edges of each tooth within the space. I believe a see-saw motion helps to get front and back angles as well. With that said, it's all the more reason to use a tool like this, rather than your fingers. It's a lot of work to be effective, so this makes it quick and easy. Just zone out, floss, and make us proud.

These are what I need to floss. I've tried to use floss and my hands, but it never turns out good. With these, flossing is a breeze! Way better than not flossing! Sturdy product, easy to use. They will break if you try to bridge the "Y" gap to tight with floss, so be careful.

I bought this for two reasons. One, I didn't want to keep spending on disposable dental floss sticks. Trying to save money. Two, I wanted to minimize my use of disposable plastic. For the price its pretty good. I received three. It came with instructions that are illustrated and easy to follow. The plastic itself is sturdy too. I did take notice of the issues other customers had before I made my purchase. Putting the floss on is not complicated. Once you do it two to three times the process is faster. I used about 14-15 inch of equate dental floss, loop it 1-2 times around a circular piece near the base, then curve it up and around the forked ends at the top, then loop it 3-4 times around the circular piece. To tighten the floss you need to pinch the forked ends as you wrap the floss. The closer the forked ends, the greater the tension of the floss. I did have issue with the floss loosening up at first. If your teeth are too tightly closer together like mine, you will need to tighten the floss. At first I didn't bother pinching the top ends of the dental floss holder. This caused the floss to become loose one I reached the rear molars. I didn't have this problem with my front teeth since there is enough space between my front teeth to comfortably slide the floss in and out. My back teeth are more tightly packed next to each other thanks to my wisdom teeth having pushed the rear teeth closer together. So to avoid the floss from becoming loose I realized I needed to make sure the floss is tight enough to wedge it between tightly packed teeth. Just to clarify, when I say you need to tighten the floss, just apply a firm squeeze at the top ends of the dental floss holder. The closer together the forked ends get, the more rigid the floss gets. I didn't like the feel of the floss when it was way too tight nor was it convenient to have it too loose or else I ended having to re-loop it around and readjusting it. Like I said before, after using it more than once I figured out the ideal floss tension that felt comfortable but not too loose where it would come off of the dental floss holder. I haven't used any other reusable dental floss holder so I can't make any product comparison. It's not easy using this thing on the rear teeth COMPARED to the disposable ones. I get it, this one is larger in size. But the handle is almost like a tooth brush, allowing for a better grip and it helps to maneuvering this thing around. It didn't take long learning how to use it.

I don't know how this product got 80 positive reviews by people who actually use this product. But here is the raw review from a real user. Please do not waste $8 on this product. I highly recommend to avoid this product. If you feel experimental, perhaps you can go ahead and purchase this. Make sure to ask for the full refund within 30 days, if you are not happy with this product. 1) It doesn't hold the floss string for an entire cleaning session. After few floss strokes, the floss comes off from the holder. So you have to re-adjust numerous times to get it right. I had to re-adjust the floss string on the knob about 10 times for one flossing session. 2) You have shift the floss string for every other stroke or so. To do so, you have to shift the floss string to the clean section of the floss string and re-adjust the floss string on the holder. To do that, you rotate the floss string around this non-moving knob. (another bad design element). 3) It wastes floss more than it should. Almost twice times as much, at least. If you cut your floss in advance and place it on this holder, you will waste 2 or 3 times floss in length than you would typically use. 4) You can do without cutting the floss string in advance, but that just creates even more hassle of using this product. 5) Your teeth hurt after the cleaning session, because the holder puts more pressure between your gum and tooth. Thus, the floss gets inserted deeply into the gum. That makes you bleed more. Normally, your teeth shouldn't hurt after flossing, but it does after using this product. 6) The holder is too big. Who designed this product??? Bottom Line: Just don't get it. If you can, just use the floss by itself. You won't waste floss, and you won't go through much hassle of using this product. If you get it, ask for the full refund within 30 days.

First and foremost, these were a lot bigger than I expected them to be. They're about as long as a normal sized toothbrush. However, the fact that they are large actually helps because it makes reaching your molars much easier. The three colors that I personally received were white, green, and red. They all seemed to be of somewhat durable quality. I don't expect these to last forever, but I also wouldn't be too surprised if one of the prongs snapped if I wrapped the floss around too tightly. All in all, for the price paid, it's a fair quality. Before purchasing this floss holder, my main concern was whether or not I would be able to get the floss to stay on the floss holder and not get loose as I used it. Other reviews mentioned that they had to rewound the floss onto the handle once or twice. I really did not want the floss to get loose as I used it. I basically wanted this to function exactly the same as the disposable flossers. Much to my delight, the floss holder worked very well in keeping the floss tight and straight even after going through my entire mouth. The trick is to make sure the floss is nice and tight as it's wrapped around the base and the prongs. If you don't give it a slight tug and make sure it's nice and snug as it's being wrapped around, the floss gets loose as you run it through your teeth.

I bought this Flosser on 28 October 2015 for $7.77. I bought this because I had just had surgery on a broken finger and was unable to floss my teeth. I figured this might be a better option than not flossing. Or using the other styles that you reuse the same strip for the entire flossing experience. I ended up buying the three pack, because just buying an individual flosser cost over half as much. As soon as I received the package I washed it and used it. Stringing the floss was not intuitive so I had to YouTube it, but it made sense after watching. It took two hands which made it difficult to use in my previous condition. And the constant adjusting of the floss made it much more time consuming. There were several times where the floss would slip off of the fork and I had to unwind a bit to adjust. The entire product is a plastic that feels fragile, but is actually quite sturdy. If I applied enough pressure I could break it, but I don't think I will under normal conditions. The floss I use was a generic grocery store brand, that is both waxed and quite thin. Now that both hands are functional and free from any splints, I still use this and will continue to. It is much easier to string the floss with both hands and is easier than ever to get to the back of my mouth flossed. The extra reach helps with my larger hands, so it is convenient. I might consider buying this again. It does exactly what it says. My only issue is I have yet to find a good way to string the floss to make adjusting easier. The colors I received were a clear orange, a blue, and a white if anyone were interested.

I use a flossier everyday. When the post of my flossier broke off, I was looking for a better made model. I tried the Flossaid mostly due to the price. (a plus). However, after using it, I found that the post lacked a taper on the lower side where I needed to wind the floss. This made it awkward (not as easy, even after some practice) to wind the floss. The metal rivet did eliminate the problem of my first flossier as the post did not break off. However, I then discovered that the floss did not lock onto the post as well as my first flossier and did tend to slip during the flossing. I did like the larger size of the Flossaid, it was easy to handle. Bottom line I went back to using a second unit of the original flossier I was using. I will purchase 2 more as back ups (they are almost 3x the cost), hoping that the broken plastic post was due to poor plastic processing or too much recycled (regrind) material used during molding, causing the post to break off. Plastic often gets a bad name because the proper material is NOT used for a job, the material is NOT processed correctly during manufacturing, or too much recycled or regrind material is used (to save costs), thus diminished properties of the part. A properly designed and processed part will be allow a manufacturer to make a superior part of even complicated design, for just pennies (think of your cell phone case).

It takes a few tries before getting the hang of stringing the floss and using this holder without breaking the floss, but once you do, it works really well. My back teeth are really close together and difficult to floss using just my fingers or with other floss holders. Start by wrapping the floss a couple of times around the button then run the floss up one prong (or finger) of the holder, across to the other prong and then back down to the button and wrap about three times. Always wrap the floss in the same direction around the button and it will be easy to remove by unwinding when you are finished. I've found it helps to pinch the holder and floss just above the button between my thumb and forefinger - keeps the floss tight.
