Review: Still a Solid Little Workhorse — Just Know the Limits of the 2GB Version - The Raspberry Pi 4 (2GB) is one of those pieces of hardware that just flat-out delivers for what it is. For a small board, it’s surprisingly capable. You’ve got a quad-core 64-bit processor, USB 3.0, dual display support, built-in WiFi/Bluetooth—it’s a huge jump over the older Pi models. I’ve used this for a variety of projects, and it handles typical workloads like a champ—things like home automation, lightweight servers, media setups, and general tinkering. It’s stable, reliable, and just works once you get it set up. That said, let’s keep it honest—the 2GB RAM version is the limiting factor. It’s fine for most basic to moderate uses, but if you start stacking services or trying to treat it like a full desktop, you’ll hit the ceiling pretty quick. It’ll do it… just not gracefully. Where it shines is efficiency. Low power draw, small footprint, and enough performance to handle real tasks without needing a full PC. It’s one of those tools that earns its keep if you’re using it for the right job. Build quality is what you’d expect—simple board, no fluff. Just know you’ll need a proper power supply, cooling (especially under load), and storage to get the most out of it. Bottom line: still one of the best bang-for-your-buck single-board computers out there. Just don’t expect the 2GB version to behave like a modern desktop, and you’ll be happy with it
Review: The best single-board computer on the market - I've owned many Raspberry Pi boards over the years, but the Raspberry Pi 4 is by far the most capable desktop-replacement board to-date. The wide software and documentation support within the community is phenomenal, making it extremely easy to get started with the device. Not to mention, the low price point makes it accessible to anyone who wants to experiment with computing. One of the most impressive features of the Raspberry Pi 4 is its easy-to-access GPIO pins, which allow for a variety of expansion options. This flexibility makes it a great device for hobbyists, students, and rapid-prototyping. The large ecosystem of expansion HATs offers endless expansion options. I primarily use my Raspberry Pi 4's as dedicated media center computers for Kodi, and they work flawlessly. The device runs smoothly and without any lag or stuttering, even when playing 1080p H265 videos. The small size of the device also makes it ideal for use as a portable media center, which is perfect for on-the-go entertainment. Overall, I highly recommend the Raspberry Pi 4 to anyone who is looking for a powerful and versatile computing device at an affordable price. Its wide range of capabilities, ease of use, and broad community support make it an excellent choice for anyone who wants to experiment with computing or build innovative projects

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does Amazon have a policy against gouging/scalping?**
A: The price will probably go up another 50% by Thanksgiving and will not arrive in time for Christmas. Amazon certainly doesn’t care. All this supply and demand nonsense is just that. And, no, it’s not due to China intentionally creating a chip shortage. Most ARM chips aren’t made in China and the boards themselves are still assembled in the UK.

**Q: Why is this so overpriced?**
A: Seller is absolute liar. They buy every one they can at regular price then inflate the price on here. MSRP is still $55 for RPi 4gb. Check the Adafruit site for proof.

**Q: Is this a whole kit? Why is it so expensive when the 2gb version is only $35 on adafruit.**
A: I can't complain about the price. I paid $40 with free shipping.
That's not much difference than paying $35 + shipping

**Q: Does this raspberry pi 4 model b have the fixed usb-c port?**
A: Purchased 4GB version on Jan 7, 2020. Pi received was Rev : c03112, Model 4B Rev 1.2 which is later version (see Raspberry Pi forum for discussions re USB C).
