Out of the box this is capable of holding 400 discs. **Q: does anyone else store the booklets you get with cds in this? I have 380 cd's and booklets in it and cannot close it** A: I store my booklets and covers in document protectors in separate notebooks. Once you make the decision to get rid of the bulky jewel cases, you're home free. I already have a similar, same-size case, and can't tell you how handy it is. This one is just as good, and organization is a breeze. Every DVD comes in a jewel case with a title jacket. I cut out the index card-sized film description that's on the back, and slip it behind the DVD for those who must read those things. I do it, but it's certainly not necessary. Frankly, if people don't know what Jaws is about, I don't know what to say lol. With a case like this, accessing and storing DVDs (or CDs) is a breeze. I know streaming is popular, but there's a definite market for physical media. When FYE closed its stores, they were selling their vast inventory of DVDs at a price so cheap I couldn't believe it, and I stocked up--all genres, including documentaries, which I like, and old made-for-TV movies from the '70s and '80s. What a steal. I have the movies in my original case, which still isn't full, even though I have so many. I wanted another for TV series, mini-series, and TV Christmas movies.
