Canon M50 mk2 - perfect for long timelapse photography
I've been using with my camera to capture many hour long timelapse videos. It allow the connection of an external power bank through a small port in the battery cover. It just works really well!

A gamechanger for filming long sets with an EOS M
This has proven to be a complete game changer for getting an extra angle when filming concerts. I tend to use the EOS M for a rear angle and, with batteries, found it frustrating that sometimes I'd have to change battery mid set and get things rolling again. With this adapter and a 20,000mAh powerbank I've shot 5 hours of footage and only gone down 1/4 of the indicator dots on the bank. When used with magic lantern's auto restart function you can film for hours. My initial test left it running overnight for 7.5 hours and it was still going when I woke up. I can now suspend my camera from a beam in a venue, hit record before doors open and have the whole thing captured at the end of the night. I've not noticed any side affects of using this cable - I have the camera set to turn the screen off when filming so heat doesn't seem to be an issue (although I've only tried it during winter, to be fair, but indoors in warm venues).

Works with Canon M50
The Canon M50 has shockingly bad battery life hence I needed a dummy battery option to extend shooting time. The cable worked first time from a power bank. Just make sure your power bank has a good mAh rating otherwise it won’t power the camera. Also check the power bank doesn’t turn off if it thinks there is no current draw. So far so good but time will tell if it was money we’ll spent.

Cheap Rubbish Doesn’t Work
This product simply doesn’t work. It is cheaply and poorly manufactured, doesn’t fit properly into the intended camera enough to make a full connection for power, and if you are not careful will leave your expensive Canon camera in a bricked state. I bought this product based upon a YouTube video review - my fault for listening to some halfwit pretending to be a tech expert like every other unemployed 18 to 35 year old with a mobile phone and a YouTube channel. This is absolute tat (rubbish). It doesn’t fit the camera properly so there is no way that it can actually transfer power. Also, due to Canon equipment being quite high-end, and clearly not liking cheap parts to interface with, it completely bricked my Canon M50 Mk II. Do your camera a favour and give this one a pass at all costs. The build quality is awful, and even though I am unable to use this product, you can tell that it will have about three uses before it starts to fall to pieces. Cheap lightweight non insulated plastic and flimsy wiring, with dodgy connections. Can’t say enough about how poor a product this is. Definitely not value for money - more like a scam product to be fair.

It's working
Solid build, fit for purpose. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Works fine with EOS M50
Read conflicting reviews on whether this worked ok with Canon M50 - but it works fine with Anker IQ usb charger & also worked fine with a MoKo 5000 power bank (rated at 2A) I suspect it has not worked for others if their power bank/charger had a low output - 1A or less. If you have a good quality power supply it should be fine.

Fonctionne bien

Game changer for filming
Bought to extend the battery life by using a powerbank with my Canon M50 and filming. The battery included is just a plastic shell and will not work without the charging cable connected. Preferably the connection between the dummy battery and cable should have been a USB C, not proprietary, although the cable has an included black box on the cable which probably means there is something going on to limit the voltage and amperes to the right level. The cable itself is longer than expected. Should not be a problem to connect and keep connected. I have the Canon M50 in a smallrig cage, which still works with this setup since my cage leaves the battery lid underneath the camera free to open and close without removing the cage. Make sure your cage works the same. The weak spot in this setup is probably the cable connection through the battery lid to the dummy battery. Make sure you lock the cable to the cage or otherwise, since the connection could be brittle enough to brake with a tug on the cable. I use ranger bands a lot for my setup. Charging cable ranger banded to the stand/camera cage, so any forces added to the cable wil end up tugging on the ranger band instead of te dummy battery connection. Also, keep in mind that a longer battery life can make the camera more susceptible to over heating, especially filming longer sequences. Make sure to monitor heat and to paus the camera in regular intervals.

Usefull after some modding.
Usefull device, eventhough I modded out the connectors to/in the dummy battery and the internal plugs of the battery to make sure I could use the rubber covered hole on the side of the canon 100d battery compartiment. No need to drill holes in your canon battery closure lid to insert the plug. If you know how to solder you can easily open the dummy battery and remove the 2 extra plug connectors outside and inside the dummy, so the wire goes straight in the dummy, via the side.
