Review: Thundercat Nostalgia - I'm a HUGE fan of the Thundercats, having grown up when the original series was on. Even had some of the toys when I was a kid, (no longer have any unfortunately. ) But..the series was fun, taught lessons and the animation was excellent. I appreciate the fact that this series was done at a time when things weren't computer animated, people animated this show with their hands, the technique for animation for this show and others similar to it, from 1985 to 1992, were still largely done by hand and in a painstaking, to me thoughtful way. The quality and even at times the errors we as viewers sometimes see make it special. Also actors brought these characters to life, so much work to bring these shows to life. Shows like this are worth a watch, and may even teach you a few lessons along the way. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good reboot *by B***N on March 5, 2020* As far as reboots go this is one of the few that is actually good. First off it is not a retelling of the original show instead it is basically its own story with much of the same characters and ideas. That being said it was better than the original in many ways and as a show I enjoyed it more. I am a huge fan of the original thundercats but at the same time if I look at it objective without nostalgia getting in the way I have to admit that the original was repetitive, not as exciting, and extremely corny at times. This reboot has no shortage of action and there seems to be a more focused overarching story as opposed to the episodic feel of the original. I think they used characters very well and the bad guys actually felt like a dangerous threat instead of doofuses with no legitimate threat to the thundercats. For the most part the character designs were also better in the reboot with the major exception being panthro who just looked... weird. One of the best parts of the reboot is that snarf doesn’t talk. It gets addressed later in the series but I was critical of Tygra and Liono being brothers at the beginning. The bigger issues I had at first which I forgave at the end was the expectation of this being a retelling of the original which it just isn’t and doesn’t try to be and in the end I’m kinda glad they went with something new but they stopped in the middle. I really wish they would have finished the story but unfortunately I don’t see that ever happening which is a shame.
