It is a substantial improvement over the 3-system (PS2/N64/SS) adapter, which used to be the only adapter available for Sega Saturn until Mayflash came out with this one. The major innovation here is that you can plug two Saturn controllers into one adapter, which saves you from needing an adapter for each controller. The unit is about 4"x6"x2", very lightweight, and quite portable. The cord is plenty long. A minor point worth mentioning is that the black color nicely matches the controllers, unlike the bluish purple of the old adapter. Finally, the price is a bit lower ($5-$10) than the previous one. Buying this plus one controller shouldn't cost much more than $40 shipped to your door. That cost was worth it to me, to be able to use a quality Japanese-made console controller (with all that R&D and QA testing). **Q: does this have a switch for xinput and dinput?**
A: As of November 2020, yes. However, X-Input only lets you use 1 controller at a time.

**Q: Is this compatible with the saturn 3d control pad?**
A: I haven't tested it, but I remember reading somewhere that it is not.

**Q: Does this work with the sega saturn twin stick (virtual on)?**
A: Yes.  The Saturn Twin Stick is mapped as a normal digital controller (left stick is the D-pad, right stick is mapped to BXYZ, L stick button is R, L stick trigger is L, R stick button is C, R trigger is A) .

**Q: Will this work with the Virtua Stick?**
A: I don't see why it wouldn't if Virtua Stick is compatible with the Sega Saturn. it works great for Eclipse Stick.

Once you get your buttons mapped in whatever game or program you're using, the adapter works well. I haven't noticed any input lag that I can attribute to the adapter. The first game I tried, I felt I was getting lag, but trying out both an Xbox One and 360 controller I got comparable response. Other games have been just fine. The main gripe I have with the adapter is that D-Pad presses get translated to both a button and POV hat direction. This can make it hard to assign buttons in some games. I had trouble with the steam configurator because of this. You can switch the D-Pad to register as analog X,Y axis but this may not be ideal for all games. Lastly, I can confirm that as of 2-2018, the 3D controller still doesn't work 100%. The L and R triggers register as buttons, not analog axes. Despite the downsides, it's hard to beat the Saturn controller for 2D control and it's nice to be able to use it on the PC.
