I frequently use shark bite fittings for joints that may need to be taken apart in the future. For repairs they work great and beats trying to sodder wet pipe

I originally bought this to join copper 1.5 inch pipe to 1.5 inch PCV pipe. It doesn’t fit the PCV pipe. Had to sweat a copper nipple on another copper 1.5 piece and join that with the shark bite and use a threaded plastic PCV coupler to completely the drain line. I recommend this product. I don’t like sweating pipes near flammable material in my home. KAG

Easiest way to connect PEX pipe existing copper pipe or CPVC without using any tools other than cutting the pipe to the correct length. I remember seeing a plumbing company come to my mother's house to install something not near as durable as this copper and brass constructed fitting and not only did it take them only 10 minutes to make the repair they charged her $650 for This Part that can be found most places for around $30!It's fast it's easy and it's cheap what more could you want for something that ACTUALLY LASTS

This made modifying existing 2" copper in my home very simple. Was finishing up a remodel, and the shower drain was 2" copper, this let me retain the existing pipe and just move / extend a little bit and was super fast.Note that this does not work on PVC, some people have thought this previously, there is no option for PVC to copper besides a good fernco.
