It is totally true. I've tried privacy screens in the past, mostly film, I think it was the Galaxy S4. It was dark, not clear, just difficult to see. Well, many years past, I think the quality and design of this glass is now leaps and bounds better than the past.For the purposes if privacy, it serves me well. From the person standing next to me, while holding my phone chest level, what can be seen is just black screen.To compare this to a clear non-privacy screen, for the clarity standpoint, this screen protector appears to be darker. No comparison, serves different purpose.And now, for the unanimous part, it still serves as a protective screen. Application is so easy with the provided applicator frame. It is so hard to miss that. I went through all of them in one month. I’m clumsy and I drop my phone a lot. First break and first drop ever with the protector on, it cracked across the glass. It fell from my window ledge to the sink (less than a foot of distance). Second break it fell from my bed to the tile floor, again crack across the glass not just a knick. Third one is on my girlfriend’s phone and it annoys her that when she slightly tilts the phone she can’t see her screen. Idc about not seeing my screen with a tilt but it’s really annoying that I’ve had a lot of screen protector brands that withstand my constant phone dropping but every time I drop my phone I have to pray my screen protector isn’t cracked and needs to be replaced. I guess that’s the point of a screen protector, to protect the phone itself and yes it does that, my phone is still in great condition, but I shouldn’t have to replace it on every inevitable drop. Ive had a new one on, a diff brand since 2 days ago, dropped my phone 4 times already, still on the first protector. I could probably be less clumsy yes, but then that’s really more unrealistic than making a stronger glass protector.I like that it’s a privacy screen but I barely dropped it a foot and it cracked easily.
