It wasn't quite long enough to reach comfortably around the whole thing, and this popped right in to make it long enough. The coloration is EVER so slightly different from the original gate we have (purchased at a local firestove supply store) but we don't mind and can't really tell. Review: Didn't fit with the KidCo Hearth Gate - Bought both this item and the KidCo hearth gate however it doesn't fit and had to return it.
