I took the belt off and stick the pad in my pants and it is secure. If I wear men's compression type underwear (I'm a woman) it's even more secure. I have fallen on the floor, on a skate wheel..and it has been fine for my sport. It has s hard plastic shield that seems to work well. If I was slamming on a rail....not so sure. **Q: The picture doesn't show much in the way of cushion. Looks like it needs more padding. Opinions?** A: It has plastic on the outside. It was what I was looking for. The other kinds of butt protectors were too bulky and didn't fit under my ski pants.I needed to protect my sacrem after a few bad snowboard falls.It doesn't stay securely In place. It protected my tailbone when I fell during my first couple of ice skating sessions. Returned. ### ⭐⭐ Pain in the rear *by M***N on March 22, 2017* I really wanted to like this. It's minimalistic and low profile compared to other coccyx guards. This is great, perhaps if you don't have a tailbone injury already. If you have one, all it does is create a prominent point that always gets hit first if you land on your bum. That only increases the impact on your tailbone. It also moves around a lot. Without a thigh strap or other anchoring strap, it just slides up whenever you do land.
