It makes all your dance floor lights provide a second layer of a light show. The beams of light are exposed in the fog. The fog is so thick that I could control the fog. I can keep the fog low or I can fill a room, all depends on how you aim the machine. Very cool. Hardly uses any fog juice, It took us forever to use 1 tank fill ~1/8th of a gallon. And it still has some left over. A must have for any dance floor. Review: Works but slightly less duty cycle than expected - Works well. As expected it takes about 3-4 minutes to warm up and after that it makes fog. Only two negatives, one is that it did not produce fog for as long as we expected - to cover the 4500 cu ft it specs out would require two run times (it will run until the heater element cools down, then waits for it to reheat again before producing more fog). I expected slightly better coverage than that - it covered approximately 2000 sq ft of my house before needing to recharge. Hard to judge the cu ft however so this may just be me. The other negative, which is not the fault of the product, is that you need to realize that fog created from this (and I'm sure any other machine) will rise in the air. It is, after all, heated liquid and so will tend to rise. We had our smoke detector system and central station alarm go off over and over again for 15 minutes and had to clear it all out by opening windows. To avoid this you have to make (or buy) a fog chiller - relatively easy and cheap to do, many instructions on the web tell you how to do so. I made one for our second run and had perfect ground hugging fog.
