## Description

A quick drying sealer which provides an excellent base. This formula does not contain harmful petroleum solvents such as toluene and xylene. A lacquer-based clear sealer and finish that dries to a soft sheen. It is specially formulated to work with any Mylands finishing product or by itself. A brilliant high gloss finish can be achieved on turnings when used in conjunction with a high build friction polish or a rich matte finish when the waxes are used. This product does not contain shellac.

Review: Very pleased with the results - I used Mylands High Build Friction Polish in combination with the Mylands cellulose sanding sealer, and overall I am very pleased with the results. The finish does require some finesse, as it can streak if not applied carefully, which I attribute more to technique than to the product itself. I did accidentally leave the friction polish container open overnight, and it appears some of the alcohol solvent may have flashed off. Even so, it remains an excellent fast-build finish and performs very well for quick turnaround projects.
Review: Good product, does its job! - So far so good. I have only used the sanding dealer a couple times but it seems to work as advertised. Smooths out grainy woods after turning on the lathe, then apply my finish for a really nice, smooth, shiny finish!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does this contain beeswax?**
A: The ingredients are NOT listed on the container. You will have to contact the manufacturer for that information.

**Q: does it contain shelac?**
A: Not being a chemist, I'm not sure. But, from using it on many wood spun projects, I would say no.  being, If after application and short dry time you rub or spin project to hard, it is removed. Shelac once dried is very hard to spin remove on a lathe. This seals at a microscopic level in the fibers of the wood you can't even see. Once dry allows for top coating of your choice to help a shine stand out.

**Q: I'm looking for a us equivalent of the german sanding sealant "clou"?  would this seal pear wood i could finish with 00 steel wool?**
A: Yes, it will seal pear wood. It is the best sealer I have used over my 7 years of turning wood full time. I do not know the german brand.

**Q: Would this product be good for sealing wood like mesquite?  I'm making some kitchen knives and would like to use mesquite for the handle scales.**
A: I believe it would, I suggest you never leave them in water, bad for the wood.
