The battery that came with it didn’t last long , I thought the gp pointer was broken because it just keep beeping , turns out it does that when the battery is dead . Would suggest bringing a good quality 9volt with you . It is finding metal about 2” away The tombac button was the first thing I used it on . The pinpointer would sometimes beep randomly when turned on and wouldn’t stop beeping. However, the issue went away when I installed an alkaline 9v battery in the unit.
