Very lightweight unit with clearly marked connections. This is old-style audio equipment, complete with the 'wind the speaker wires around the screws' connectors. The output connectors are a bit crowded, which makes for some cumbersome wiring (for those of us with fat fingers and limited dexterity at least), but they did secure the speaker wires firmly. Hooked it up (Nov 2017) to a 2-year old Sony A/V receiver (input) in my unheated garage, going to a set of JBL outdoor speakers on A and a set of old indoor bookshelf speakers on B (also on the outside of my garage). Both speaker sets were previously wired to a single output, so they ran together. Now I can control them each, with the good ones (JBL) facing the back patio and the cheap ones facing the pool on the side. Have had no drop off in sound level through either channel or when both are on (A + B). Great thing is the switch is designed to be directly mounted to the wall with 4 screw holes. They are a little too close to the body for easy install, but they are present. Been using it for about 6 weeks with no issues.

We have a Yamaha 5.1 tuner in the garage and wanted to play music in the backyard off of it. When we are outside at night, I did not want the music to be playing in the garage as well. This was a perfect solution. Can play music in garage only, backyard only or both. I see reviewers questioning what it can handle, I am currently running 70 watts per channel through with no problems, i dont turn it up very load, not sure if that matters, but so far so good. performs well and does exactly what I needed it to do. Saw other types for much more $ and much larger in size. But this little inexpensive one is doing what i need it to for now....we'll see how it holds up.

My 50+1 CD changer had one speaker output and one or “surround” output from which the vocals were very muted, so I had no way to feed both my living room speakers and my lanai speakers. This little selector solved my problem. Some have complained about the screws being tightly spaced, but I didn’t have a problem. I just twisted the speaker wire and formed a little hook at the end to tuck under the screw head. I have done a lot of electrical work, so perhaps that helped. Works great and great price!

This a b switch works but it would be much easier if it had quick connect speaker wire connections. Having to unscrew a screw and curl a speaker wire around each screw and tighten it for four speakers is a bit tedious. Although the A/b switch does work well, it is a bad design to not utilize quick connects for the speaker connections.

I put this switch in to go between inside and outside speakers. I mounted it to the wall. I terminated my speaker wires and screwed down the connections. The ab switch works perfectly. I didn't think I'd use the combo seeing at all but it's come in handy too. I can't believe I could not buy something like this locally in a brick and mortar, so thanks Amazon.

First off. You won't find a better A B A+B selector at this price. Anyone who complains about how difficult it is to use for their specific application is really being picky. It works as designed and is designed cheap. You get what you pay for. I found the side screws challanging to use like most people. So I removed the back cover and soldered leads to each pole on the inside. I mounted the switch agaist a cavity which I had access to. So there are no exposed wires on the side. Everything is conceled. I also removed the screws completely and covered them with electrical tape for a clean install. Although I have modified the design a little, it works for what I need.

This is awesome! Simple to install and works great. Our receiver did not have the a/b selector so we needed some way to listen to the two speakers in stereo in our sun room without also playing the speakers on our hot tub deck. This little gem did the trick. It also has the option to run all four speakers at the same time. Works great!!!!!
