When using 12864 screen mode, connect the port EXP1 and EXP2 to the motherboard. There is no touch function in this mode. Review: Perfect mate to BIGTREETECH SKR Mini E3 V3.0 - I just got an Ender 5 Plus, that I wanted to make modern. I got a BTT SKR Mini E3 V3.0, and one of the Mini12864 displays. As it turns out, that mainboard can't use the Mini12864 without building a custom cable. This display works great. There's some technical stuff that I had to dig around for. Here it is. OMG I was wrong, this screen unlocks so many options and functions. Maybe it's because of my skr e3 board with the screen. But i now have ways to even adjust the probe and reset configurations of the printer i couldn't before. The quality if life improvement is massive. The installation is annoying like all this stuff. I think it will work, but I was unable to get the motherboard working with the original screen (even though it supposedly can), so it might just cause headaches. Nothwithstanding, I don't know of any major differences between the stock Ender 3 and the stock Ender 5 pro motherboards, so it should work with the Ender 5 line. If you haven't already, ask Reddit or look at the product descriptions on the BigTreeTech website for compatibility. It could be that I just bought the wrong item first and the screen works just fine with the stock motherboard. **Q: Will this work on an Ender 3 Max?** A: If the max has a BTT MB with updated firmware designed for the screen, and you design / print an enclosure for the screen it will.
