Large and in charge. Very bright flashlight. Has some weight to it. Seems solid and well made. Big enough without the extension but will add extra lamp time for longer searches. The charger works well and the 2 ready lights go from red to green when ready. Takes about an hour to charge. Easy to use and looks solid. Happy with purchase.

The uvBeast v3 is the most powerful uv flashlight there is. It projects a central spot of 11 degrees with a surrounding fill of 63 degrees. I zoomed my 3 watt 365nm uv flashlight to match the fixed fill circle of the uvBeast and found that even the Beast's fill gives a brighter fluorescence. The uvBeast beam is similar to my 36 watt LED uv bulb as seen in the first picture attached. The Beast has a tighter and brighter spot. I bought the Beast to get more portability than the bulb has with the 10 foot extension cord I attached with a bulb receptacle and switch on it. Since the Beast is temporarily out of stock, I'll let you know that my bulb shown in the second picture is no longer available at Amazon, but I see a similar one at https://www.amazon.com/KINGBO-36W-UV-Blacklight-Decorations/dp/B0749JNZXV/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=uv+LED+bulb&qid=1578421359&sr=8-7 I would strongly suggest you buy the uvBeast with the batteries and charger because 18650 batteries have gotten expensive and hard to find. I have not gotten the charger plug led to change to green indicating a full charge. I initially charged the battery for 7 hours. I stopped to measure the battery voltage at 4.22 volts, a full charge. I used the flashlight over a six week period and finally just left in on for another 25 minutes before it dimmed. Then I took a voltage reading every hour while charging the batteries. The result: before charging 3.05 volts 1 hour 3.47 volts 2 hours 3.52 volts 3 hours 3.56 volts 4 hours 3.60 volts 5 hours 3.62 volts 6 hours 3.63 volts 7 hours 3.65 volts 8 hours 3.66 volts It didn't come to 4.2 full charge volts this time, but I've read that you get the longest life from an 18650 battery when you don't fully charge it each time. Seeing how the charging started to level off at 4 hours, and the uvBeast has been working well since recharging, that's how long I'll charge it for in the future. Some reviewers ask what you can do with the uvBeast flashlight. Besides looking for animal urine and spotting scorpions, and checking for the fluorescent ribbon in currency from $5 up to $100, there is lighting up fluorescent blacklight posters, highlighting markers, many green dish washing liquids, laundry detergents, antifreeze, some clothing, and some minerals. If you don't mind being grossed out, aim the flashlight around the toilet in the bathroom or food prep area in the kitchen. I bought a set of 15 fluorescent minerals on Amazon from Frey Scientific, but most such sets would need a dangerous shortwave uv light for most of the rocks. Only 4 rocks would fluoresce as seen in the next 2 pictures. My favorite use for the uvBeast is lighting up phosphorescent glow in the dark powders, tapes, and pebbles, as seen in the next few pictures. I've been doing art with the tape. I found glow in the dark paints to be disappointing. The powders are often shown in bottles but packaged in plastic bags. I bought the bottles separately. The powders come in the most colors, 13, though many are a variation of green, blue, red. My camera didn't capture the true purple color. The longest lasting colors are the three that appear white in daylight but glow green, blue-green, and blue, and one of the reds, as you can see in the sequence of 10 minute exposures. The powder is messy. The tapes come in a total of five glow colors, though the red and orange are similar. The pebbles come in a few more color variations than the tapes. Many reviewers of the pebbles complained that they left them outside in walkways and they didn't glow. They do glow, but the powders, tapes, and rocks, will only glow in color for about an hour depending on the age of your eyes, after which their illumination drops below our color threshold. In complete darkness, you can still see a gray glowing all night long. Pebbles left outside will start glowing once the sun sets and lose their color during twilight that lasts longer than your night vision will see the colors. You need the uvBeast to light them up once twilight has ended. I have received word that they plan to market a 365nm, perhaps uvBeast v4? That is usually considered the sweet spot for uv flashlights, but I don't feel I'm missing anything with the uvBeast v3. A zoom ability would be nice, but taking a step back works just fine. Addendum: Note that I the pictures I refer to are not in the order they were downloaded. I'll number them in future reviews. How powerful is the uvBeast v3? Two or three seconds exposure in the central spot from several feet away is enough to fully charge any phoshorescent glow in the dark item. The most useful purpose for glow in the dark tape is on things you need to find or use in the dark, such as flashlights, astronomical telescopes, light switches, exits, etc. Another uv flashlight use is for collectors to identify depression era glass called vaseline glass, which is actually uranium glass. It is fluorescent in uv light. See the added picture of the doll. It is slightly radioactive, so you may wish to display such items behind glass, which ironically blocks the radiation from such glass. The four hour recharge of the batteries I suggest works out well because the 1 amp (1000ma) charger should theoretically put 4000ma into the battery pair in that time, which totally can hold 5200ma between them. That's about 77 percent charged. I highly recommend the uvBeast v3.

The uvBeast V3 385–395nm Black Light UV Flashlight is seriously impressive. The power and brightness are far beyond the typical little UV lights you find online. It produces a strong, consistent beam that makes fluorescence really pop, whether you’re checking resin curing, inspecting surfaces, or just exploring what glows. The build quality feels solid and durable, and it’s very easy to use. I also appreciate how reliable and consistent the output is compared to cheaper UV flashlights that fade quickly. Living in Arizona I had no problem finding lots of scorpions with this powerful blacklight https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TQKY1GC . I found 4 - 10 scorpions a night for the first week or two then the count gradually decreased until the end of the season. In year two I'm finding 1-2 a night, sometimes 0. This more powerful light helped me seen scorpions from a distance of 20 - 30 feet. (My neighbor uses some pathetic weak blacklight and he's lucky to see scorpions at the tip of his toes.) I'm glad I got the uvBeast.

Ok this UV light does perform! It is a BEAST!!! Buuuut the only problem is that the batteries are not to standard. The batteries that come with the product are longer than 18650 batteries. They added spacers to the batteries then shrink wrapped the whole thing. So if you want to use your own batts; you’re going to have to add an isolated spacer to fit normal standard 18650 batts. The power output is actually to strong! The wavelength is right on par and will reveal WAY MORE than just urine stains. For instance, it will make your acne glow orange on your face! And oils of any kind will glow as well. Just shine it on the wall above the stove! Look at the light switches around the house! Look at the walls!!! It will show you high traffic areas around the house… just DO NOT USE IN PUBLIC BATHROOMS! It’s scary! Wish I never had……

I primarily use this for hunting lost golf balls at night, and it makes them pop like neon signs. Build & Durability: This light is incredibly well-made. I’ve dropped it occasionally on the course, and it has never skipped a beat. It’s durable enough to handle regular outdoor use without any issues. Performance & Battery: My hunts typically last 1 to 2 hours of continuous use. Unlike other lights that get hot or "step down" in brightness to save power, the uvBeast V3 stays cool and maintains a rock-solid intensity the entire time. I use the handle extension with three rechargeable 18650 batteries, which gives it phenomenal runtime. Customer Support: I’ve reached out to their team a few times with technical questions, and they always respond within 24 hours. It’s clear they are fully vested in their product and actually stand behind it. Verdict: After 4 years and comparing it to multiple other brands, I have no hesitation giving this a 5-star recommendation. If you want a UV light that actually performs, this is it!

Bought this to track down mystery cat urine spots and it delivered immediately. The triple broad band LEDs are noticeably more powerful than cheaper UV flashlights — it covers a wide area and makes stains easy to spot. A few things that stood out: it comes with batteries included and safety glasses, which actually make a significant difference — they filter out the purple light so you see the fluorescence clearly instead of fighting the glare. There's also an optional battery extender accessory that lets you add extra batteries for longer runtime, which is a nice option to have. Build quality is excellent, feels like it's built to last. If you have pets and mysterious odors, this is the tool you need.

EDIT REVIEW BELOW: I purchased an expensive uv flashlight for my resin work. The 1st flashlight I received worked for a couple days then stopped. It'll turn on for a few seconds then shuts off until it decides to turn on again for another couple of seconds. The company sent another flashlight immediately. It worked for 4 days (usually at 10-20 second intervals to cure the resin then it shut off, refusing to turn back on. I've tried different batteries, no go. The company wouldn't send another replacement, even though I purchased the extended warrantee. I have to sent back the flashlight and place another order. It'll be with another company. I'm not sure if these guys are selling refurbished as new or if I just so happened to receive 2 brand new flashlights that were less than stellar. Either is possible... I'm frustrated, as I need a GOOD, POWERFUL UV flashlight for my work. I'd heard good things about the beast but I've ABSOLUTELY been soured by my cruddy experience. I'm now another week behind (after having to wait for the replacment to arrive and now bc of I'm waiting for my refund before I can order a light from someone else). DEFINITELY NOT A HAPPY CAMPER! IF YOU CHOOSE TO WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS JUNK AND DECIDE TO BUY THIS FLASHLIGHT, DON'T WASTE $7 ON THE EXTENDED WARRANTEE BC IT DOESN'T GET YOU DIDDLY-SQUAT! The flashlight works wonderfully when it has the correct lithium ion batteries in it. The batteries they sent were about 2mm longer than any of my others (yes, both flat & outty-bellybutton) I got new batteries & have it a go. It's a WONDERFUL UV FLASHLIGHT! CURES RESIN IN SECONDS!!!
