If the remote switch is turned on, and you lose power, does it resume as "On" when power resumes?

This switch does not resume as "on" when power resumes.

If I by 2 of these, can you send me ones that have the same channel?

I bought several of these and they arrive with random channel assignment. I wish order process allows you to select desired channel.

Two questions: 1) Can you power on/off using a switch on the main unit (i.e., without using the remote)? 2) Is there a battery in the main unit?

That an outlet draws No Power is a misconception. All special outlets including those multiple outlets with Surge Protection draw power. Even an unused charger for your phone (plugged-in but not being used) draws power. The power draw is minimal, but if you have a dozen plugged-in in your home, that ads up over time. You'd have to use a Milli-amp multimeter or call the manufacturer. Usually those things are not advertised. If you have a multimeter, place the leads between (in Series) on either line, but not on both lines at same time, that would measure the volts.
