Never, and I’m mean never ever try to use it without the seatbelt fastened. At least while you’re just getting used to it. I feel pretty sure you won’t ever not wear it if you get used to it while wearing it. Not only is there the potential for falling on your head and having a whole new set of problems but I actually injured my Achilles’ tendons on both feet.
