Nushine Silver Plating Solution 1.7oz for Brass Copper Bronze & Silver

For starters, please wear gloves!!! LOL Half way through working on my champagne bucket, I received a phone call, and I ended up removing my gloves to take the call. Two days later and my fingertips are still tinted charcoal gray despite me repeatedly washing them! The bottle specifically notes it, but I was so excited to finish that I did not grab another pair of gloves to finish it and I ultimately paid the price for it! lol Now moving onto the results of this product….Simply put: I was AMAZED by it! My cleaning lady used the wrong product to polish my champagne bucket and she ultimately damaged it. I contemplated throwing it away, but I ended up purchasing this silver plating solution as a last resort. I am not going to deny that during my first application, I was not convinced. I put some of the solution on a small hand towel, rubbed it onto the champagne bucket, and nothing happened. No difference. I decided to shake the bottle really well, changed the hand towel to a microfiber towel, and I poured a small amount of the solution right onto the bucket instead of onto the towel. I allowed the solution to sit on the bucket for a few seconds (it turned black as part of the plating process), and then I proceeded to buff the solution off. What a game changer that was! I was impressed by the results!!! There were times that I had to repeat the same process more than once on some areas, but at the end, the results were there! In some areas, I did not even have to put any solution on the bucket as the microfiber towel was saturated enough and all I had to do was wipe the area for an instant result. Within 10 minutes, my champagne bucket went from being ruined to a shiny silver plated polish all over again! I cannot emphasize it enough: buy this product! It truly works!!!

I had this piece of jewelry bought on a favorite trip that we’d planned for more than ten years. It meant so much to me, but over time it began to tarnish, but no amount of silver polish helped. I’d long ago given up and sadly placed the pendant in a jewelry box for memory sake. Recently I’d decided to see what it would cost to have it re-plated, and found this product. I took a gamble on this and WOW did it do wonders! My favorite piece is now restored, shiny as new. It does not work on cheap metals—tried it on an old costume jewelry piece and it actually removed silver coloring off of it. Seems to work well on copper though—worked wonders on a penny. The giveaway that it’s going to work is that the beige liquid will turn black, and start to thicken up—even dry a bit. There’s zero reaction on cheap metals, but on copper and brass I get an instant reaction. Doesn’t take much, a little goes a long way. I’ve now applied several layers to my pendant and have a lovely patina.

Terrible results. Tried multiple objects. Tried ordering a new bottle. Followed instructions carefully. It’s not satisfactory.

I couldn't wait to get this product as I tend to lose jewelry so I buy cheap but pretty stuff. When some of my stuff started showing it's copper element, I found this. It's very easy to use, however, it doesn't really last that long. In fact, there are several items that I needed to repeat the process but it's really no biggie because it really only takes about 10 minutes to do about 3 or so rings at a time. Only because of my carpal tunnel that I can't do more. But I do recommend this product as a fake silver cleaner and will be buying it again. But a little goes a long way so don't know when that will be. Oh, and make sure you use a cloth you won't use for other purposes. The black stains will lesten in the wash but I wouldn't wash anything else but other rags with it.

I stripped the polish from my silver jewelry a few days ago in attempting to clean them after my mother had given me the two bracelets and ring. In looking at how to restore them, I came across this plating solution. While it does seem somewhat expensive, it's certainly less so than replacing these pieces (the James Avery necklace alone goes for $185), and also less expensive than buying the equipment to electroplate. I didn't even consider taking these to a jeweler because I knew that would cost nearly as much as getting the equipment and materials to do it myself. I went somewhat heavy on the solution based on reviews saying it didn't last. I also plan to allow these time to sit out before wearing them in hopes that helps with longevity. I'm fairly pleased with my purchase, but I'll come back here and update if the product does seem like it has weak adhesion. I don't wear silver as much as gold, so I think that will also help allow the product time to cure (since it is starting wet, after all).

Un-stinking believable! I was skeptical of this product, but I can tell you I’m a believer. My only regret is that I did not take pictures of my rings before I use the product. I thought I had ruined one of my favorite rings. I took the finish off the brass was showing through. Looked online to see if there was anything I could try and came across this product. It took what I thought to be a ruined ring and turned it into a like new ring! Having had success with one, I tried it on another ring that I had kept because I loved it, but wouldn’t wear it because it looks so bad. I am absolutely thrilled with the results.!

Omgggg all I can say is this stuff really works and I’m so very happy that I spent my money on it I replated a couple of my rings a they look great. I’m so excited… Thank you to the owner of such an awesome product

Ok. This is a very powerful tarnish remover, which is why I am giving it two stars. I t definitely goes beyond the typical tarnish remover like the kind you dip jewelry in or the average cream. But I would NOT say this is a "plating solution" AT ALL. To call it that would mean something that goes much further than a heavy tarnish remover. I will admit, I have not tried any others and only embarked on salvaging some items which belonged to my grandmother, due to sentimental value, however, I would say this would be a good way to remove very heavy tarnish BEFORE using a true re-plating solution. It also seems to vary depending on the thickness of the item. It worked pretty well on a thin silver plate bread basket without too much effort, where a regular tarnish remover was not very effective. So dont expect any miracles on something weighty. And also, when I didnt get the results on the items with more heft, I expected that if I repeated the process again it would "fill- in" where the original plate was pours, like any layering material might do -- paint, porcelain??) But not with this. it just got more smudged and I spent most of the time getting smudges off of this antique item, I will try to add a pic, but it was pretty much a waste of the product and actually made it worse because the black debris from attempting to re-apply ended up on the cloth and my gloves. It also smells pretty bad, you MUST be in a ventilated are a near a window or outside. I am allergic to a lot of things, so very aware of this. I dont trust to use this completely inside and DO NOT use around pets -- NO WAY. Wash your hands immediately after using and it will dry your hands out, so do everything you can to protect them. All that being said, it is excellent at removing tough tarnish, but it is NOT effective at re-plating. These are two different things

The product works really well, it gives a nice finish. The plating is quite shallow, but it does take on multiple coats to build up the plating thickness. One key step though is preparation, you do have to use it on well polished, and absolutely free of any contaminants surfaces, grease or dirt. It’s the rubbing action that deposits the silver so a good amount of rubbing is mandatory. And you want to wear gloves.

Wow! I was not expecting such a great result. This product is amazing! I have used it on tarnished silver-plated vintage jewelry with amazing success. I cannot speak to the longevity of the finish as yet, but so far, so good. This does exactly what it says on the bottle. See the image - before and after. I love good chemistry!

Bonjour, Produit efficace si on ne veut pas passer des centaines d'euros à faire réargenter une bague chez un bijoutier. Il faut juste renouveler l'application de temps en temps pour que l'effet soit durable. Surtout si comme moi on ne ménage pas ses mains et qu'elles sont souvent dans l'eau ou des gants.

I used this to refresh the finish on a 1920s tuba. Works like a miracle. It fixed the silver in areas that had worn through and turned the replacement brass leadpipe silver as well. Does rub off over time, but I use car wax on the instrument to keep it protected which seems to be working. If the product turns black, its working. Rub that in then rub it off. Not sure what other folks are doing that caused them problems, I assume the material they're working with isn't one of the metals this is meant for. You can electroplate silver on to all kinds of metals that this stuff won't work with, just because your item is silver doesn't mean this solution is appropriate.
