Compact but versatile
At only 7.5 inches long, this is small for a level, but it has more features than meet the eye. It has bubble level indicators for horizontal, vertical, and 45° angle surfaces. The edge with a ruler on each side is the one you position on the surface you're checking with the bubbles. On one side, the ruler is in centimeters, on the other it's in inches. The three types of laser images it can produce are a horizontal line, a vertical line, and both together, making a "+" on the target surface. To switch between them, you simply move the lens up or down. (As is often the case with foreign-made products, the written English names for the three positions, on the sticker next to the lens, are ...amusingly weird... but they are also illustrated in red.) You are warned to be careful with the breakable glass lens itself, and never to look directly into the laser light. The lines it projects are bright enough to see clearly in daylight at least 10 feet away. The lens can also be adjusted as to angle if needed, as indicated on the box. At the other end is a built-in measuring tape that goes up to 8 feet. It stays out when you let go, too, which is nice. But another warning in the instruction sheet points out it has a powerful rewinding spring, so when you press that release button on the top, be careful the edges of the tape don't cut you as it whizzes back inside. The box includes the level, an especially useful little separate 6"/15cm stainless steel ruler (which I finally got out of the vinyl sleeve by blowing into the open end to unstick it), three spare batteries, and a little phillips head screwdriver for the battery cover. The instruction sheet starts by having you open the battery compartment to put in batteries, but I found that mine already had batteries in it, in addition to the three spares in the box. There was a "pull" tab sticking out of the compartment, but I'm glad I didn't just pull it before first removing the screw completely, because the cover was quite tightly in there, and pulling that tab was what freed it. If the screw had still been in when I pulled that tab, the cover might have broken off from the tiny bit with the little hole. Everything else about the Levelpro3 seems durable enough to survive frequent, albeit careful, use. I wouldn't leave it lying around a construction site, but for workshop/studio/home use it's dandy. I am going to find a carrying case for mine, partly to protect it from falls, and partly so I don't lose the spare batteries and the screwdriver. The nifty little extra ruler is probably going to live in my pocket!

This is a good level
This arrived today and I immediately started checking it out. It feels solidly built. The movement when selecting the projected shape has a good tactile click for each of the three positions.. It definitely feels like it will hold the position with no movement once it is selected. The projected lines are bright and are sharply defined. The built in tape measure will come in handy when working in a tight space. The included steel ruler will also be handy. It measures 6 inches on one side and 15 cm on the other. I know from experience that it is often nice to have easy access to both measurement systems. The level comes with batteries pre installed, you just have to pull out a little tab to connect them. There is also a set of spare batteries included. This is nice because they are the little button batteries. With those I can never remember what size I need when I am at the store. Between the installed batteries and the spares I won’t have to worry about that for a long time. Overall I am happy with this level but I found two deficiencies that made me reduce my rating to 4 stars. The deficiencies are not with the level itself but with the product packaging. 1. When checking a measurement you have to account for the offset from the base of the level to the center of the laser lens. This is a very important measurement and should be included in the specification for each of the three lens positions. I figured I would measure it myself but even that turned out a little more difficult than I first thought it would be. The included metal ruler seemed like it would be perfect. I set the level on a flat surface and set the end of the ruler on the same surface. I could not determine the offsets on my first try. One issue is that I don’t know if the offset is metric or imperiaso I will just have to judge which mark seems closest.. But here I discovered the second deficiency. On the inch side the end of the ruler is not zero inches. There is some extra space there. It is ruled so I should be able to figure it out tomorrow using my magnifying glass . But I will have to include that extra space every time I make a measurement. On the metric side the end of the ruler is zero cm. I was amazed to see that on the inch side. . Who would make a ruler like that? Having said all this, I have to keep in mind that I am not building rockets or doing fine woodworking. My projects can tolerate a fair amount of inaccuracy. I am still keeping with my 4 star rating though because the issues I point out here can and should be fixed by the manufacturer.

Laser Level works great but loose on/off switch causes it to eat batteries
The laser level part works great. Sadly it eats batteries because the on/off switch is so loose that it sometimes stays on. Also the stop button for the tape measure doesn't work. Even when you put full pressure on it, the tape measure slowly retracts. It's really unfortunate that it has these flaws because like I said, the laser level part - which is the main reason I bought it - is great. You just have to tape down the on and off switch otherwise you'll go through batteries constantly.

Big Bang for the Buck
This is a great tool for decorators and wallpaper DIYers. This has a laser, level, measuring tape, and ruler - and it even comes with extra batteries and a little screwdriver. Excellent value.

This level fails at being a level.
This laser level is not accurate. I discovered this when I was using it to install a TV wall mount. I was using the small level that came with the mount kit but used the laser level to mark the final location before drilling the holes for the screws. I went back to using the small level once I screwed the mount to the wall so I could use both hands to tighten down the screws. This is when I noticed the bubble was not centered between the lines on the mall level. I grabbed my 2-ft level to verified the level of the wall mount. The 2-ft level bubble matched the level that came with the mount kit, which means the laser level was off center. I verified this by stacking all 3 levels on a flat service to verified which level bubble matched location. The 2-ft level and the level that came with the mount kit match each other. The laser lever bubble was positioned next to the line. I two photos shows a slightly different view so you can see where the bubble was located on each level. The laser level is on the middle. You can see that the laser level bubble was positioned to the right of center where the other two bubbles were centered. I do not recommend this level.

Bought for tabletop gaming, exceeded expectations.
I needed a laser that makes straight lines for table top gaming. So not for what this is traditionally used for. There are bespoke laser pointers that do just that and made for the hobby but those cost just as much as much if not more than this because of the hobby tax. For this purpose this device works admirably but worse than the bespoke pointers because its much bulkier. For a hobby laser this gets three stars but I give it 5 because its multi purpose. In addition to the laser it has a 6" ruler and a tape measure which is extremely useful in the hobby. Also I can't tell you how many random times I needed a straight edge and this bailed me out from having to run downstairs as I keep this on my desk. But it is also has uses outside of tabletop gaming. I got some vinyl album wall mounts as I wanted to display a 4x3 grid of records on my wall. The laser made lining up the records an absolute breeze and nothing was crooked. Dare I say I think this may be its intended use.
