Review: A True Stubble Trimmer. - I had searched the net for countless of hours looking for a true stubble trimmer, before ending up buying this one in particular. I wasn't sure, because there were a lot of mixed and negative reviews, but took the chance and I'm glad I did. First of all, this is a stubble trimmer and it is not meant for long beards. Also, this trimmer is not meant to be used with wet hairs and it isn't washable. The unit comes in a standard retail package. Nothing much included, just the trimmer itself, a small cleaning brush that has two brush heads, one wide and one small; a power cord, a "sample" size tube of trimmer/cliper oil and an instructions booklet. The instructions clearly say to charge the trimmer for 16 hrs before its first use, this is a must, according to the manufacturer, to make sure you get the most out of the battery. After the initial charge, the unit will take from 2 to 4 hours for a full charge from a completely dead battery. There's only 3 buttons on this trimmer. The rectangular/black buttons are for increasing/decreasing the cutting length, the smallest setting is a wopping .4mm! which is perfect for the "5 O'clock shadow look", which I tried and it worked. The other button is the power button. On the screen, you get the trimming level/number and the battery status, which will flash as you use the trimmer. The trimmer can be used with or without the guide, but the guide itself can't be removed; it just flips onto the back of the trimmer, but it doesn't get in the way. As for the performance, this thing did what I was expecting, I first tried it at 1mm and I had fantastic results, the trimmer did a great job a cutting the hairs evenly and without much effort. Some spots, specially on my neck and the corner of my mouth, required some skin stretching and different approach angles, but the results were great. I then tried the lowest setting, which is .4mm and I was blown away. The trimmer gave me the perfect shadow look, the way my beard looks a day or two after I shave, which is my favourite. The trimmer's head moves as you slide it accross your face, so when you reach the chin, jaw, etc, you don't need to adjust the position of the trimmer. I didn't experience any hair pulling or pinching. The guide, as I said before, can't be taken off of the trimmer, but it can be flipped to the back of the trimmer, which is perfect for when trimming sideburns, etc. I didn't need to remove it when I was trimming my beard. Cleaning the trimmer is easy. Simply flip the guide to the back, grab the included brush and give it a good swipe accross the trimming head, then, apply a drop or two of the included oil and you're done. In conclusion, if you want the shadow look or the perfec stubble, look no further, the Conair GMT900 is not just the tool you need, but it is well made, simple to use a true stubble trimmer.
Review: Head Shaver - OK, I bought this to shave my head. I'm becoming follicly challenged on the top of my head and have been shaving my head once a week. I have several Wahl trimmers and have been very happy with all of them. I have a corded model, a cordless model, and my most recent purchase a Bald Fader. They are all great. I wanted a better routine though. So I got this. And I said I'd wait a little bit so I could get a real good feel for the product. I wanted an easier routine for keeping my head shaved. I have plenty of hair on the side of my head that grows insanely fast. The heat from it growing so fast, or the incredible power of my brain seems to have worn our the follicles on the top of my head. So I found that Bald Fader was REALLY close and I liked the 5 o'clock shadow look of a day or two after using it. This seemed to be the perfect answer. My first use I tried it with the guard clipped back. To me, that seemed a little bit unforgiving on my head. It was fine, but it wasn't as close as the Bald Fader, and it seemed to be a bit tough to do on my head. So I moved to using the guard and keeping it at the 0.4 setting. I have found that this works great. The key is to keep cleaning the blade. My hair grows really fast, so in a day or two there is a lot of it, well, except up top. So when I first started, I found that it seemed to take more effort than I thought it should. So, it was my fault. Today I tried a different approach. I found that it was indeed "clogging" up with hair. I flipped the guard back and used the included brush to sweep away the hair buildup on the blade and the shave was so much better. The key for what I was using it for, was just to keep cleaning at a pace that was quicker than you would think would be needed. I have a schedule of shaving my head with this about every two days and am very pleased with it. Battery life. It's insanely good. I didn't time myself, but this time I shaved my eye brows. Then my better half wanted to manscape my chest hair. And I shaved my head. I had used it the previous two times just to shave my head. And after all this it was down to two bars. As for the height adjustments. It worked well on the eye brows. For my taste, I think it was too close at the highest setting for my chest though. Your mileage may vary. Oh, and yeah I tried it for my face too. Crazy, but it seemed to work well for that too. Go figure.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how long is the longest setting and how long is the shortest one?**
A: The longest setting is 5 mm and the shortest is 0.4 mm.

**Q: what the difference between this GMT900R and GMT900?**
A: According to Conair cusomer support, they are identical, with the GMT900R being a more recent model. When reading through the descriptions of both, I could find no difference with the exception of the price. I bought the 900 for my son and he loves it. Some of his friends have seen it and they've purchased the same product because they liked my son's so much. Hope this helps you.

**Q: About the charging dock - does the trimmer rest on there and charge there so that you do not have to plug the trimmer into the cord? Thank you**
A: The trimmer does not come with a charging dock that I am aware of. You just plug the trimmer in, charge it, then use it.It should be noted that they recommend charging it 16 hours before the first use to fully charge the battery. This is only for the initial charge, subsequent chargings last only about an hour or two.

**Q: How do I put the blades back on after cleaning under them? There are 2 very stiff little hooked wires in the way.**
A: It should just clip back on, if you are holding the blades on their own, unattached from the main body, sorry you have broken it

I sport a goatie that is 4mm long. I know this because this precision trimmer showed me so! A motorized blade length adjuster will give you incremental settings up to 5mm. I've struggled for years trimming with scissors and trimmers and finally I've found the perfect one! The one thing you must always be aware of is that when you turn the trimmer off, it goes back down to the shortest setting! So before you trim, adjust it to your preferred setting every time! 👍🤓👍
