The color of the wood does not match the board as others stated. However, I purchased this board for chess pieces I already had. I'm happy with its unique multi-level design and it is very well-made.....it is not exquisitely-made, but well-made. By this, I mean it is rustic and a bit coarse, like a "farmhouse" styled piece, not a finely polished, "luxury" piece. I paid $49 and I think it was well worth the money.
