Great Product!!
I have a small 13 pound Jack Russell mix that feels she has to be on my shoulders when Iโm driving. She also barks and lunges at passing cars while sheโs on my shoulders. Obviously this is not very safe for either of us or anyone else on the road so I decided we need a dog seat for her. After researching many of the booster seats offered on Amazon I decided on the Devoted Doggy seat. It didnโt have many reviews so I was a little wary, but the reviews it had were all very good and it looked like this was just a new product on the market and hadnโt had time to build-up a lot of reviews. When I received the seat I was very impressed. Just as described, it has a metal frame and hard bottom. Itโs also made of a good quality canvas, and has a nice fleece cover thatโs removable for washing. Unlike other products that use the lobster claw to connect the safety leash to the seat, the Devoted Doggy has a sturdy D ring so no accidents can occur (this was a big concern of mine after reading other products reviews about dogs that got their foot caught and injured in the lobster claw). The seat was easy to install in the car (tried it on both the front and back seat) and my dog fits perfectly in it. She also has enough room to lie down in it if she wants to. Iโve taken her for two test runs just to start getting her used to it and surprisingly she didnโt go nuts like I thought she would. While she was obviously not happy at being strapped in, she seemed comfortable and very quickly settled in. She tends to shed a LOT in the car and this was the first time Iโve taken her on a ride and not arrived home with hair all over my car! My daughter has a small dog too, and she was so impressed with how my dog took to this that sheโs considering purchasing one for her dog. So far I have found nothing negative about this booster seat and highly recommend it.

Perfect, safe car seat for our furbabies
This is a great little dog carseat. My Morkie, Shiloh, at first had to get used to it, because he is a "wild child" and he made it very well known he was not, at all happy being confined to his carseat. However, I bought it for this very same reason. I wanted him to be in the car safe, in one spot, not all over, front and back, vice versa. So, once he came to the conclusion this would be for our trip he finally became "somewhat" adjusted to it. However, I believe it may take another long trip for him to accept this will be his place and therefore it's best he just accept it. Afterall he isn't the boss, although he'd like to think he is. Besides my rebellious Morkie's behavior this carseat is perfect. It is well made, safer than dog running wild in the car. It has a fur lining around the rim of the box (seat) which I really liked. I placed a covered foam in there so it'd be softer for Shiloh to lay on, along with a soft blanket. It is fairly deep so there is sufficient space of which to do this. It has a latch to secure your furbaby in along to his vest. I wouldn't suggest a collar only because if he climbs over and out, as Shiloh initially did trying to escape he could choke. Make sure your furbaby has enough leadway to lie down if he so chooses, to. Id certainly purchase this again and may just purchase another one for my truck. So, I don't need to be switching this one back and forth, from car to truck. It attaches to the passenger seat securely and Shiloh's hangs about 5 in. off passenger front seat so he can look out of window. Great dog seat. Shiloh weighs about 7pds and fits in his seat perfectly.

Helpful for anxious pup car riders!
Received this item in a couple days with Prime shipping... Prior to even looking for something to have in the car to transport our pup (she was 10 wks when we first got the carrier, about 3 lbs; she's now 16 wks and about 5 lbs), she was very anxious and nervous in the car. She would go back and forth btwn my husband and I, didn't matter who was driving. She would whimper and try to crawl up onto our shoulders. Trying to drive by yourself with her was quite a challenge! When the carrier arrived, it did have that distinct "new" smell that other reviewers have mentioned. We added one of her blankets in it and we laid it on the floor in my office, where I spend a lot of the daytime, so she could smell it and get used to seeing it. The first afternoon after setting it up this way, she fell asleep in it right on her own (see photos). Usually she'll want to nap in my lap or office chair while I'm working. We also purchased a harness to hook up to the clip in the carrier, instead of connecting it directly to her neck collar. I also put a blanket/stuffed animal pillow set I got from Costco into the carrier so she wouldn't be at the bottom of it since she's so tiny. The first few times we put her in the carrier in the car, she was still anxious, but did not try to jump out of it. It was great for us cause we didn't have to worry about her trying to climb btwn my husband's lap and my lap. It's been about a month since we received the carrier and we try to take her for short car rides maybe 2-4 times/week. We have used the carrier to take her on a car ride that was just over an hour. She's not as anxious or nervous on rides now, and is just starting to get comfortable in napping in it while in the car. Overall, the quality of the carrier seems to be pretty good and it's holding up well. The "fur" lining sheds a little but doesn't bother us. The "new" smell is not as strong as when it first arrived, but it is still there. The strap adjusts well and we can run in btwn the 2 head rests in the back of my car (Honda Fit) and in the front row of my husband's truck (Dodge Ram - see photos). The strap can be adjusted to be short enough to have her be able to see out the window in front too (Fit - see photos). Great product, would definitely recommend to others. If you have a smaller pup, like us, I'd advise to add a small pillow or something more plush into the carrier so your pup can see out of the top.

Decent, Safe Way to Ride with Small Dogs
I bought this for my mom's two Maltese pups, they are about 5 pounds each and according to her, nervous in the car. I thought it might help with that if they could be closer to her and see out the window, which this little basket allows for while keeping them safe and not running around on her lap while she drives. I tried it out in my Explorer, and as a tip, it helps if you sit your front seat upright to keep the basket level at a higher position on the chair. It has a clip in it so you can hook your dogs in. I used a splitter connected to that to clip in both dogs at one time, but apparently you can buy a second clip on a small lead just like the one already in the basket. With the splitter lead, the dogs had a little too much lead and if they had jumped out, would just be hanging from the basket. They had body harnesses so I wasn't worried about them choking or anything though. For the most part the basket worked well and as advertised. The little dogs were in there pretty securely and had a little room to move around, hang on the edge to look out, and even lay down; but keep in mind they're pretty tiny. You could probably have fit a small blanket in there, too, but the inside was soft and padded enough for them already. They seemed pretty content once they got comfortable, and mostly just laid down or looked at me while I drove. My mom said she didn't have as much luck with keeping them in the basket or with them being nervous in the car, but I think that's more due to her very high-energy level relationship with them, she's just not good at being calm with them so they feed off her frantic energy. It still kept them safe, was easy to put in her car, and adjust for different levels so they could see their surroundings.

Good for around town errands
We have been using a pillow stack (large, square, firm floor pillows, not bed pillows) covered in an easily washable twin fitted bed sheet for our pup, combined with her shoulder harness attached to the car seat with a short, shock-absorbing lead for safety. Our beloved but now passed previous dog, a 24 pound puggle, loved this setup, as does our current pup (an 11 pound chi-min terrier mix) on everything from short errands to multi-day car trips. Just like people, to avoid motion sickness they need to be able to see outside during the ride. They also they love feeling involved in the adventure, plus it's important to have them secured in case of an accident or even just a hard braking, and to prevent them from distracting or interfering with the driver. The only problem with the pillow stack is that it's a bit of a job on the odd occasion when it needs to be moved between our vehicles. In looking for a quicker, easier way to accomplish some of the same advantages of the stack but in a package that's easier to move and set up, we decided to try this booster seat. Pros - the seat is indeed easy to move between vehicles, the height is adjustable, and it keeps them secure and able to see out, occupied, involved, and (mostly) satisfied during the ride. Cons - it wouldn't have been nearly big enough for our puggle (the size of a pug), and is barely big enough for our 11 pound chi-terrier. She can sit up in it, but laying down even in a curled up position is a little cramped and not nearly as comfortable as her pillow stack. To be able to see over the edge of the basket without her chin resting on the edge with her head tilted up semi-uncomfortably, she has to be sitting up, not stretched out or in the Sphinx position, as she likes to ride on her stack. That gets tiring for her on anything but short errands around town, so we'll still use her pillow stack on longer car trips. Also, this booster seat isn't very well padded, but that's easily fixable. I could tell she was having a hard time staying comfortable, so I got 1" thick foam from the hobby or sewing department of a big box store, cut it to fit, and placed it in the bottom of the booster seat under the fleecy liner. She seems to be more comfy and less fidgety now and can see over the edge a little better while laying down curled up, but of course it does nothing to give her enough room to stretch out or do the Sphinx. It's too bad they don't offer a slightly larger model with the basket bottom just an inch or two wider and/or deeper (front to back) without the sides being taller.

Well designed and perfect for my puppy
My puppy Chip has decided that this booster seat is going to work great for him. He is still very nervous and clingy riding in the car and prefers to be towed in his hard crate in the back seat. I like this design a lot, it is well made and sturdy and looks nice too. I love the pocket, canvas all around, harness clip, and easy to put where you want in the vehicle. Why I chose this one is the price is great and it is just nice! Other competitors designs of booster seats have mesh along the bottom which poses problems as his claws get caught in it and scares him. The frames aren't as sturdy and collapse as other reviewers have mentioned crate is the safest way to ride but he misses out on fun stuff like riding shot gun and seeing where we are going. I let him sit in it a few times while parked in the driveway to get him used to the idea and we tried it out last night for a short trip and he approves!

This is a great seat but be warned.
OMG! this has been the best single purchase for my new YorkiePoo puppy that I have made! You will love this. It comes already together all you do is hook it around your headrest and buckle the strap around the seat and Bam you have a great little seat for your dog to feel safe and comfy. Mine sits up of the seat so I can even still use the seat to put stuff on. My puppy can see out or lay down and sleep. This has made my life so much easier as I am training a service dog which has to go everywhere I go. He is happy and I am happy. It is sturdy and comfortable. What more could you ask. This is a great buy for the price. Well worth it if you take your dog with you when you go out. Update: 11-8-2016 I have a small puppy and he was actually able to jump out out of this seat while I was driving even though he was tethered by the clip which was on the tightest setting. I couldn't stop right away as I was crossing traffic and it is a good thing he had a harness instead of a collar or I would have lost my puppy.. I did however take the tether off and tie a knot in it and put it back so he can not do that again. I am going to write the company and tell them about this experience. I love the seat and the concept but not what happened which is why I took away 2 stars. They should give you two tethers. One regular and one shorter for smaller dogs.

Sturdy and great quality!
I had an issue with my pomeranian roaming freely in the car, and scratching my leather too often, that this doggy car seat helps to keep him in one spot with me, and buckled in safely. There are 2 straps: 1 that hangs around the head rest (adjustable to elevate or lower as needed) and 1 that has a Buckle that can go around your passenger seat, this helps secure the seat bucket in one place. Inside the bucket there is a strap that you can hook onto your dog to keep them from jumping out (it is adjustable). I recommend using a harness when buckling your pup in here. Note that this seat works best with passenger side (due to the buckle strap that goes around) it wouldn't go well with back seats unless you're OK with the hanging strap only being used to secure the seat. I have a 10 lb pomeranian and this gives him plenty of space to sit up and lay down as needed. Inside liner is a fleece-like material, and the bucket has no support on the sides but when it hangs, it is very sturdy, with a hard flat bottom that helps a lot so your pup doesn't sink in. I would recommend this item!

OK for Puppys!
Bought this for our pug puppy which was perfect. Once he got too big we had to just let him sit on the car seat which now he has scratched the leather. Would be good if it was designed as they grow for weight.

Really good!
Easy to fit. We have a double seat and the straps fit around it with no issue. Dogs can be secured easily and don't struggle. They get to see outside too. Very happy..... Bought two.
