Men's 5053 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch

Obviously, you are looking for a watch either as a present or for yourself. I did some research on watches a few months ago when I bought this one. Invicta provided very high quality at an exceptionally reasonable price (I bought mine at sub-$100 but I would pay more for this watch now that I know more about it). Now, that I have owned this watch for almost four months, I am writing a review of it. If you don't want to read this, just buy the watch. It is what you are looking for at anything near this price point.The Good:-Great Price - This is an absolute steal at less than $100. It has the looks of a watch that is at least five to ten times as expensive.-Automatic Movement - This means the watch does not use batteries. It charges itself by the natural motion you engage in while you are wearing it (you can also manually wind it).-It does an exceptional Rolex imitation while having excellent independent quality backing it up. Looking up the Rolex Submariner if you doubt the looks.-It has a dive counter - I thought I broke my watch by knocking the face out of alignment but the reality is you can turn the numbers around the face counter-clockwise to set a counter of sorts (it does not move as time passes - feel free to read up on this via the internet).-The size of the case and band are excellent and I have a slim frame.-The watch hands glow in the dark. They could be a bit brighter but the effect is visible.The Bad:-It is heavy if you are not a fan of weight.-I have found it to be a tad flashy if I am wearing short sleeves, however that might be why you like the watch.-Setting the date is difficult at first as it is unintuitive (and I had to look it up). The crown of the watch has multiple steps where the middle one is very difficult to catch and you can only turn it one direction. Once you get the hang of it, it is easy though.-I spent about $15-20 resizing the band as it was much to big when I received it. This brought my grand total up to $105 or so. Still a steal. Just be aware this is something that will need to happen to wear it (or you might be able to do it yourself).-The storage time of the watch is about 35 hours so it will stop if you don't wear it for that amount of time.The Ugly:-Nothing has gone terribly wrong. The watch will naturally pick up small nicks on the casing. These are not noticeable unless you are very close to the watch. You will also have to wipe off the face every so often (I am low tech and simply breathe on it and then wipe it off with a soft cloth or piece of clothing - yes, this is terrible from an etiquette perspective).Overall, I love this watch for its price, elegance, and quality. It is a fantastic deal for a classy watch if you do not want to spend hundreds, if not thousands, on a good watch. Be aware that Invicta sells normal watches that run off of conventional batteries so look carefully if you are searching for an Automatic watch.P.S. Automatic watches are great conversation pieces as most ordinary people don't know what they are.

Quality Seiko movement. Quality materials make it look classy. Not as scratch resistant as it could be in the band. Winding the spring lasts about 2 days without movement. It gets compliments. Clap is high quality, functional, and won't fall off. This is a thick watch. The band is very long and will likely require link removal unless you are the hulk. It is a bit blingy, but in a classy way

Most buyers will know that this watch mimics the Rolex Sumbariner and is widely known as a ''hommage'' piece.While others may buy it just because of its classic looks.This watch is not a rolex, but it's not a folex either. Its construction is solid and movement has worked fine for me.While I did have a defective crown on the first one I received, it was replaced promptly thanks to Amazon's excellent customer service. I do think the crown is a minor weak spot on the piece, it doesn't feel very solid, be careful not to pull it out too hard.The open caseback for you to view the automatic movement is cool and although any watch connoisseur will not be impressed by this, most of your non-watch-buff friends will think its a cool feature to check out.Time will tell as to how the gold plating wears and if it fades and rubs off - hopefully not. I haven't seen others complain of it so I'm assuming I will be okay. I had an ESQ watch once and the gold plating rubbed off quite easily.Anyways, it doesn't have sapphire crystal, isn't a swiss movement and does have the ''Invicta'' stamp on the side of the piece which I personally could go without. However, it isn't bad in the sense that at least when I wear it because it says invicta in so many places I don't feel like I'm trying to say it's a Rolex. That's what held me off of buying this watch for years, always telling myself I'd buy the real thing and unfortunatley as the years go on, it's not appropriate for me to buy a rolex. As such, I broke down and picked up this Invicta as an excellent value piece. At least now I do have the submariner style I love in my collection.Unlike most other Invicta's which I do have a few, this is a smaller sized watch, more comparable to the size of the actual Rolex Submariner although a little small for my tastes. I also have a 'pro diver'' and another model submariner style made by Invicta and those pieces are much bigger which I appreciate. Most people will be satisfied with this watches size.Overall, for the money, this is a great watch and one that most people will think cost hundreds more at the low end, some will think its a Rolex though not that people that actually know what a Rolex is!I recommend it entirely, don't hesitate to buy it, plus you know Amazon has a great return policy, you can't go wrong here - Enjoy!

First automatic watch, second Invicta watch, first mechanical watch in eons.I've had the 8927 for just over a month having it be my primary watch for the entire time. I have had good performance so far in keeping accurate time. Having use battery powered quartz watches for so long, the fact that this watch could stop working if I don't wear it or keep my arm moving is constantly on my mind...though I feel that tendency waning as my experience with the watch continues. I'm hesitating buying a watch winder for now.As to the looks of the watch, I'm definitely impressed. Looks more expensive than it is, but in my view isn't ostentatious. I just like how the watch looks! Was really looking for the full gold-tone version of this watch, but was put off by some of the reviews indicating the gold fading over time. So I opted for two tone and am glad I did. After wearing this as an everyday watch, a full gold-tone watch would just be too much glaring at me from my wrist. Coming from a full silver-tone stainless Swiss watch, the two tone is a nice change for me without being overbearing. For my 50+ eyes, the dial is easy to read, and the little magnifier over the date is definitely helpful. The see-through back is a nice touch.Some reviewers have stated that the bracelet is a bit light for a watch of this heft. In some sense I tend to agree, though it doesn't really bother me. Nonetheless, the watch feels secure on my wrist, so no worries there.For now, I'm reserving one star if for no other reason than just time and experience. I have no doubt that if my experience thus far with time accuracy and resilience in the look and feel of the watch continues that it will one day soon be worthy of five stars.I definitely would recommend this watch to anyone who appreciates the artistry and engineering of a mechanical watch that just looks nice on the wrist without drawing too much attention. As my wife likes to say, "simple elegance."

Amazing quality for the price. I wear it day and night, never lost time and looks great.

The Invicta Pro Diver is a fantastic watch that looks and feels much more expensive than it actually is. The build quality is impressive — the stainless steel case and bracelet feel solid and durable, and the watch has a nice weight without being bulky.I love the classic dive watch design: the rotating bezel is smooth, the luminous hands and markers are bright and easy to read in low light, and the dial has a clean, professional look. It’s also water-resistant up to 200 meters, so I feel confident wearing it swimming or snorkeling.

This watch keeps excellent time for an automatic, with only +2/-2 seconds per day. When I first got the watch the movement was running around -7 seconds per day, but I tweaked the movement, and the problem is solved. The NH35A from Seiko is a very nice movement indeed. The watch itself comes in a gaudy but sturdy yellow box, with all of the certification, warranty, and user manual inside a little divider in the lid. Included with the watch is the watch, the aforementioned paperwork, and a polishing cloth. The watch has a rotating bezel, which is rather stiff out of the box, but after a month of use it has become considerably easier, but is by no means loose and it doesn't appear to be getting any looser. The quality of the bracelet is what you can expect for this price, with hollow end pieces and a not entirely sturdy deploying clasp. The case and face of the watch are both well made, and the gold is better looking in person. The screw down crown works well, and the lume is fairly bright, but it doesn't retain its brightness very long, maybe 15 minutes until it starts to become dimmer. The text is very legible and I love the Rolex Submariner homage style face and hands. The cyclops works well and the crystal is very solid and scratch resistant. Definitely the best diver watch for the money, I'd recommend it to anybody.

I have owned/still own several Invicta timepieces. I really had no complaints until I bought this one. It was dead right out of the box. I made several attempts at reviving it by rotating it, stuck it in my watch winder for a few minutes, nothing, it would never start. Well anyway, I returned it and bought the Invicta 9937OB Pro Diver Swiss Automatic and believe me, that was one of the best watch purchase I have ever made from Invicta to date. It almost compares to the model 9226 Swiss Sapphire Elite Chronograph (unavailable today) I purchased 5 years ago. The 9226 was one of their Swiss made pieces, with quarts movement and Sapphire crystal, still looks and runs as good as the day I bought it. I own several Movado and two Tissot's as well, but seem to always wear one of the Invictas the majority of the time. I was very disappointed when I opened the box and saw it wasn't working. I have always liked the quality you get for your dollar from Invicta, and I will most likely buy another of their great timepieces in the future. You cannot beat the quality for the money you spend. I wont knock them too much for this one off experience, but it rates a three star rating. Good looking piece and very well made but, dead is dead. If you dont mind paying a few dollars more buy the 9937OB, you wont regret it. Its well worth the extra cash.

Super like it

Came looking exactly as advertised, but trust me when I say that it looks better in person that it does in pictures online! The watch has a very high quality feel and look, and has a hefty, nice-feeling weight to it. The stainless steel/gold plated accents look very premium and feel nice against the skin. The watch face is stunning, although I am not the biggest fan of the date magnifier that protrudes from the smooth surface of the watch glass (it is very helpful though, obviously). The numbers on the case are on a fixed dial that can turn, and it is very responsive and feels firm with each click. I had trouble unscrewing the crown for the first time, and one minor complaint I have is that it's very delicate when pressing, so by applying even slightly more force than needed, you'll go from controlling the watch hands, to the date. The watch came in a high quality gift box, and included a year warranty from Invicta. Overall, it comes exactly as shown, and looks better in person! There are no real important complaints, it's rather about personal preference, something I dislike might be something you enjoy. Since it is an automatic watch, I will have to see over time just how accurate it is in time-keeping, but the back of the case is amazing as you can see all the gears and components making this watch run. To be honest, the look of the watch will make up for any time-keeping issues it has :) Money well-spent. I'm a big believer in buying watches that look good for a reasonable price. There is no reason to spend $200+ on a watch unless you truly collect luxury watches, can easily afford them, or want real gems encrusted in them. Keep in mind that you most likely will have to get the watch adjusted to fit your wrist, as someone with small wrists, I'm used to this with most watches I buy, but it's very inexpensive to do at home if you have the right tools, or you can buy a cheap watch kit from Amazon, OR take it to a watch shop. They shouldn't charge more than $10-15 for it hopefully.
