Good start to a great fishing trip
Matched it with 4lb test. Great for crappie/ panfish. Very smooth with instant drag.

Excellent Spinning Reel
I have several Pflueger Trion and President spinning reels and love them all. I wasn't looking for another Trion 30 spinning reel, but I saw the size 30 reel on sale for $19.99 plus tax. It's a steal at that price and sells for $50 at Walmart. Excellent aluminum spool that holds plenty of line. Smooth retrieve and excellent drag that is easy to adjust while battling a big fish. The anti-reverse is automatic, so there's no switch to turn it off. That's about the only negative I could think of for this reel, and it really isn't a negative. I just like having it so I can turn it off to position the reel the way I like it when casting. Otherwise, I always have it on and let the drag do its job when fighting a gar or pike that hits my line while I'm trying to catch crappie or another species. I can't think of a better reel for $20, which is why I bought it. Using it with my Daiwa Revros LT travel combo.

Very well made and used it daily all season. Definitely designed for fresh water!

Awesome!!!!
Amazing :). I fish almost every day of the year. This is my go to freshwater real and also for smaller saltwater snappers. Reliable and consistently accurate with responding to the tug at the other end. Have a few I rotate through while maintaining my fishing habit :)

Can't beat the price
This will always be one of the best reels for the price! Cannot go wrong here. The new version has a finish that I am less a fan of than the original, but it functions the same. I would recommend this to anyone trying to get a good deal.

UPGRADE
I purchased this reel to replace an older model (same) that broke. It completed the combination rod/reel I had. Smooth as butter

Good brand
Great brand. I'm not into overpriced fishing gear and this one is affordable and it out performs my other cheap reels (except for my fluger presidential reel). My only complaint is that it is a little noisy.
