It was also the first they made at their own studio which, according to Brendan Perry, allowed them to continue to grow in 'their own self-proclaimed direction'. It's one of my favourite DCD albums and perfectly encapsulates their music, amazing to think it was released in 1988, the year I left school. The music has not dated in any way. I can still remember hearing this for the first time and thinking it sounds like nothing I have ever hear before or since. This has been unavilabe for some time on vinyl. Discogs does not show any new releases, so I suspect it's from 2017 when it was last reissued on vinyl. Plays perfect from start to finish with no surface noise, pops or crackles. The packaging is very faithful to the original release with all matt jacket and printed inner sleeve. Review: Unusual, distinct sound. - Didn't know of this group until hearing the end credits piece The Host of Seraphim at the end of the film The Mist. Very distinct sound with unusual instruments, they didn't get air time back in the 80's, this track was also featured on the sound track of the film Baraka.
