## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this any different then the adafruit huzzah esp8266 breakout?**
A: This unit can be programmed directly by connecting a micro-usb cable. The huzzah esp8266 breakout requires a ftdi cable for programming. The huzzah feather is closer to this unit but costs about 20 dollars.

**Q: Does this dev board have an integrated power regulator**
A: Yes, it has a integrated power regulator. You can supply 5V (via USB or board pin) and the system runs on 3.3V. You can even pull 3.3V off the pin(s) to your external components, or supply 3.3V on the appropriate pin.

**Q: Is it meant to be powered by the USB port?**
A: While you can power it from any USB port, the point is after you load your code to the board it's wi-fi and can operate independently with a 5vdc power source. The ESP32 CAM modules are really cool. You can set up a 5 camera home security system for about $50.

**Q: do I just plug this into my Arduino Uno? will it work with other stacked shields?**
A: Short answer: no. But you can get a simpler (and cheaper, incidentally) esp8266 module (not the dev board) and use it to connect your Arduino to wifi. I suppose you probably could rig this up to work, actually, but it would kind of be overkill, and would NOT work with shields. A small basic esp8266 might be able to be worked into a proto shield for what you seem to be looking for. There are several tutorials on using the esp8266-01 (this is the -12e) to connect Arduino to wifi.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ESP8266 WiFi Module Powers LED Project with Ease!
*by E***T on February 20, 2023*

I recently used this module in a project to control LED lights, and I have to say, it worked incredibly well. One of the best things about the ESP8266 is its low price point. Despite being packed with features, including a built-in WiFi chip and support for the Arduino IDE, the module is incredibly affordable, making it a great choice for hobbyists and professionals on a budget. In my LED project, I used the ESP8266 to control the lights via a web interface. The module responded quickly and reliably to all of my commands, and I was able to create a simple web page that allowed me to turn the lights on and off, and adjust their brightness. Another great thing about the ESP8266 is its compact size. The module is small enough to fit in just about any project, making it incredibly versatile. Despite its small size and low price, the module is also quite powerful, with plenty of processing power and memory to handle a wide range of tasks.
