The strap is a matter of personal preference...there is a model that uses velcro to lock the strap around your wrist and there is one with a buckle to secure the strap to your wrist. I like this one because it is cooler to wear and use in hotter temps. You simply slip it over your wrist and it wraps around your wrist and locks down when you drawn the bow. Oh by the way, dont assume you can use a ultra nok like i did beacuse it is made out of a stronger metal and dented the heck out of it with only 2 dry pulls. Didnt fire but i now have a small sent in the sear face.
