DEVA Vegan Omega-3 Liquid DHA - EPA, Non Fish from Algae, Lemon Flavor, 2 Ounce

Have noticed positive changes in my eyesight and mood since taking this supplement. I like this particular product because it has no extra chemicals such as carrageenan or caramel color unlike the other brands of vegan DHA/EPA supplements. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a strong fishy smell and taste BUT this is easily solved. I found two solutions to the problem. One way is to take it with a teaspoon of lemon juice. The second and best way is to purchase vegetarian gel capsules, 0 or 00 size (I use 0 size caps), and make your own pills by using the eyedropper that already comes with this product. The result is ZERO fishy taste! Only make one pill at a time because the gel capsule will probably dissolve from the liquid if given time. A whole serving fills one 0 size capsule. I absolutely love that there is a good variety of vegan items out there such as this and for a great price too. That being said, I'll have to save this for when I can add it to something else that has an extremely overpowering flavor. The taste is just too much for me. It tastes like seaweed and lemon but oily, which I completely understand and refuse to give a bad review because of my tastebuds. I knew what to expect when I bought it and figured I'd give it a try anyways. I, however, have purchased the deva vegan omega 3-dha liquid gels in the past and again after this product and like them just fine. I'm willing to pay that extra price so that I can actually get it into my tummy. :)

These drops did the job for the first half of my pregnancy, but I had morning sickness for 2.5 months and was positively sickened by even the smell of a drip on the closed bottle. I had to hold my nose while taking my dose, swallow with my nose still pinched (did you know that's possible? I didn't), then immediately start on a piece of strong cinnamon chewing gum so I wouldn't wretch. That said, once the morning sickness and taste distortion let up and I was able to go back to eating broccoli and lentils with joy, the DHA drops became suddenly tolerable. Mostly just tasted like funky lemon. No gum necessary. I finished them off and bought some DHA capsules instead, just because the drops are a little messy and the bottle tended to leak somehow. But if you aren't experiencing severe food aversions and you need drops, these will probably do you fine.

I previously used the regular deva vegan dha drops. But was glad to see they had a dha and epa version. Was dificult finding something that was vegan and in a form that kids would like. This does the trick. Kids like the flavor too. This has a doseage for children an adults. The price is good also compared to the vegan version of nordic naturals. Also, this should be refrigerated after opening. I would recommend this product. Only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because it clumps up. Really needs a good shaking every time or it seperates and one part settles at the bottom. And the dropper is terrible. It leaks out often. update 2/25/2015- i continue to use this product. Several months ago I realized something was different with the liquid. I contacted Deva and they informed me that they changed the formula. The new formula does not clump up and the dropper leaks much less. I updated my review to reflect 5 stars.

Absolutely vile tasting. Tried not even a whole dose and it made me gag and nearly vomit. I'm vegetarian and have trouble swallowing pills so I need a liquid omega supplement. This is a brand I have trusted in the past, but this product is revolting. Unfortunately it cannot be returned, so I may try it with juice as others have done if I can ever summon the fortitude to attempt to ingest this repulsive concoction again.

Tastes & smells terrible like fish.

This doesn't smell or taste as fishy as I expected and the lemon flavor is very mild and it's just the essence of lemon (not sweet or sour) so it mixes well with anything without being detectable. We give this to our baby as we wean from milk. Just 3-4 drops in milk or food and it doesn't matter what the food is, baby eats it without protest. I can't verify the quality of the supplement and like most supplements the results may never be directly correlated, but I've used other Deva products and they are usually well reviewed. I have also used Deva vegan DHA gel caps. We are a vegan family and buy vegan supplements and I am glad this product is available at a reasonable price.

I got this for my 2 year old son. It has a very strong fish smell and taste (even though it's made from algae). He doesn't seem to mind it if it's mixed properly with food, but my husband and I don't care for it one bit. It's really bad. I'm going to try Nordic Natural Algae Omega Liquid. I talked to a Nordic Naturals rep at my coop and was told that algae DHA should not have a strong taste at all if it's good quality. She was confident that the NN Algae Omega Liquid doesn't have a strong taste or smell. On a positive note, my son's skin tone little bumps on his legs and calves have drastically diminished since we started giving this product to him daily for about 2 weeks!

Product just arrived. It's semi-solid, not liquid as expected, so it's not use able as the dropper won't work. First time disappointment with this company.
