Anything beyond that depends on how many intervening walls and where you've placed the USB adapter (front or back of your machine). Crystal-clear sound while a connection is active though.- Easy to charge, just use the provided USB to Micro-USB cord in any charging adapter.- In order to use through the provided 2.4 Ghz USB transmitter (which is the whole point of the "wireless") you have to (at least I did on W7 Ult. x64) "choose" the Rage USB Headphones listed in the OS sound panel of "Playback Devices" as your "default" in order to get the main sound out to your headphones. Otherwise, they're listed as just "ready." Not a big deal, just drag the "Sound" icon from your Control Panel and place a shortcut where you prefer (toolbar or desktop), and certainly keeps from having two sounds floating around.- (Edit) I forgot to mention one other detraction. The battery is completely internal; once it's gone, it's gone. No replacement is likely unless you can take it completely apart and find a generic battery online to replace it. Most RF-style headphones operate on standard batteries (like AA's).I was looking for a wireless headphone set to replace the inexpensive Sentry RF headphones I've been using. I wasn't happy with the other RF types from JVC, RCA, Rockpoint, or Sony, mainly because of how expensive they are comparatively to the Sentry (which is a pretty decent unit). With the prices on the RF's getting into the $80, $90, and $100 ranges, I looked about at the gaming alternatives, and found the SB Rage series. The removable microphone is what decided it for me. I don't game MMO's anymore, but I might down the road. I DO use the home PC for telephone, skype, and general teleconferencing though. And, this unit gives me that ability while allowing me to remove the microphone when I want to just listen to music or a sports podcast. No one else lives with me (except my dog), so the flash and lights were not a selling point. However, they do - if you learn the meanings - indicate "in use", "not in use", "charging", and that's all I've discovered so far. Since I haven't loaded the software, not necessary to use other than for gaming, I can't review how that stuff works. If I were SB, I'd look into making these broadcast on the new 5Ghz spectrum to avoid interference with so many other devices people use that are 2.4Ghz: no doubt that contributes to cutting the range. I can't emphasize enough though, the sound quality is SUPERB.Update: They lasted about two weeks then went haywire. Lights came on when power button pushed, but wouldn't stay on. I debated just getting a replacement pair, bu then decided I didn't want to run the risk of another failure happening outside the return period. Got some sony's instead. Still great sound though.
