In addition, the protective zig-zag varnish seals the motor and bearings from dust and debris by creating a barrier under rotation. The 9565PCV is engineered with SJS, an innovation from Makita that protects the gears by automatically disengaging the motor should the grinding wheel accidentally catch or bind. The 9565PCV weighs only 5.3 lbs. and is built with comfort and ergonomic features for extended use. Review: I burned it out . . . - I burned out the Makita 9565PCV grinding out thickly applied "thinset" with the Dewalt diamond cup in preparation for laying a wood floor in my kitchen. An expensive mistake. It's my fault. I should have read the reviews. I was bearing down on the tool to make the work go faster (it did) but the handle started getting hot. I should have stopped. It started smoking and barely running. Hoping to replace the armature, I tried to take it apart but it was fused together. Total loss. I bought the Makita 9565CV to finish the job. I took my time and and the handle never got warm. I used the Makita mask attached to my ridgid shop vacuum to keep the dust to a minimum. I like the Makita 9565CV better because it has a simple on/off switch. The Makita 9565PCV has a cool paddle, but for extended runs, I like the simple on/off switch better. The Makitas are expensive, but they are light and powerful.

Good grinder and worth the money.
