The Volbox can be connected to the headphone jack on your PC speakers, or it can also be plugged into the back of the PC. Either way will work, so it depends on what is easier for you. **Q: how can I get a belt clip for this?** A: Hello Engineer's opinion, thank you for your question. One way to add a pocket clip to the Volbox would be to get one and use epoxy or another strong glue to attach the clip to the back of the box. Another way would be to get a pocket clip and screw it on to the back of the case. Because the back of the case can be removed (it has two screws), this makes drilling a couple holes for a pocket clip through it easier. Please let us know if you have any other questions. There is no standard for a line level signal, so some will be louder than others. But speaking in general, I think there is a pretty good chance that if you pass the line level output from your recording device through the Volbox and then into your smartphone, that the Volbox will be able to reduce the line level down to a low enough level that it will be basically the same as a mic level signal. If you plug a set of headphones into the line level jack of your recording device and find that the line level is at a medium to low volume level then I think the Volbox will work great.
