They slide on and off easily and do what they need to. I've never tipped a fully loaded bar, so I can't say for sure they would stop the weight if the bar went completely upright, but they stop them from moving at a good tilt.You do need to be a little careful with them - they're heavy plastic, not metal. If dropped on a hard floor the joint might break since they're only really made to handle force around the bar.WAY better than spring clamps in my opinion. Especially at the end of the work out when your forearms are getting shot. ### ⭐ You don't get what is pictured *by E***S on September 13, 2012* Cap barbell muscle clamps are awesome and work great except thats not what you get.
