BB830 is a solderless (plug-in) breadboard with 830 connection tie-points (i.e. 830 wire insertion holes) and 4 power rails. Solderless breadboards are great for building and testing new circuits because parts can be easily inserted and removed; they are completely re-usable.The BB830 has a 630 tie-point IC-circuit area plus four 50 tie-point power rails. The housing is made of white ABS plastic, with a printed legend giving numbers and letters for columns and rows. The internal contacts are phosphor bronze with a plated nickel finish.A peelable adhesive tape backing is provided for attaching it to a surface and an optional metal back plate is provided.BPS BreadBoards are Lead-Free and RoHS Compliant.Finished projects can be moved to an SB830 or BR1 Solderable PC BreadBoard to make them permanent.

Review: Better quality - I had some cheaper breadboards and they were had very poor circuit connection. I measured the resistance and the cheap ones were 100x worse that theses. I examined the contact under a microscope and these are visibly a plated copper. The poor contacts did not show as copper, so I do not know what they were made off, but their contact resistance was unacceptable. The BB830 breadboards are definitely worth the extra money - they work.

But they also manage to retain the type of resistors that have become common, with very thin leads. This product feels well made, unlike breadboards that are somewhat cheaper. Definitely worth it for me.

**Q: Are the power rail continuous all the way down? Customer pictures do not match the product picture provided by the seller.**
A: Thanks for the question. Yes, the power rails are continuous down the entire length of the board. You may see some images not matching our current photos as we had some other companies trying to pass their boards off as BB830s so we updated our silkscreen last year to show our part number, brand, as well as change the power rail colors from Red/Blue to Red/Black so that visually you know you've gotten the genuine deal! **Q: How many amps is the board rated for at 12v?**
A: Thanks for the question. The BB830 breadboard is rated at 36 Volts, 2 Amps. The current rating is due to the typical heating caused by the conductors (wires) and the internal terminal contacts.  A bit higher current and a bit lower heating can be achieved by using square post pins instead of round wires, and using multiple wires or posts to carry current to decrease the contact resistance.  It is important to keep the temperatures below the ABS heat distortion temperature which is 84℃. The voltage rating is due to safety concerns of work with hand assembled open-air circuits.  The actual breakdown voltage between terminals is higher.

I had some cheaper breadboards and they were had very poor circuit connection. I measured the resistance and the cheap ones were 100x worse that theses. I examined the contact under a microscope and these are visibly a plated copper. The poor contacts did not show as copper, so I do not know what they were made off, but their contact resistance was unacceptable. The BB830 breadboards are definitely worth the extra money - they work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May Cost More - But Work Perfectly

The price of these boards may be 3 times as much (where I could get 3 cheaper boards for the price of 1), however, you get what you pay for. Unlike other breadboards, where it's a gamble on how lose or tight the pins are going to be, where you may have to put your weight into adding a component, and bend pins removing, to having wires just fall out, these are perfect. They have just enough resistance to hold items in, but not too much you are using effort on them. I thought before it was "that's how it goes" when it came to the consistency, and you just had to be lucky to get good ones. But I have learned now there's a difference between a Chinese knock off, and these. Do yourself a favor and save the headaches, pay the money, buy a quality board (and it's not just me saying that either, I was recommended these from multiple sources, all having similar complaints with other purchases).
