I usually wear a 16 but ordered these in an 18 hoping they would not be "sucked on" tight and was pleased to find it was the right decision. I am 5'4" and around 170 lbs, curvy with a little belly issue ( haha....it's winter and I am older). These appear to look like they do in the modal picture with just a slight more ease. I also ordered short as I wanted them to hit right at the ankle....bingo! Perfect. I have a 29" inseam and I believe these are a 28" inseam. These are very soft and hits right at my normal waist....The tags recommend washing before wearing so they are in the wash now with some of my darker clothing on cold/cold water. Debating whether I should throw in the dryer on low but going to give it a try. I am planning to buy these in another wash at some point. Never expected these to be so comfy....loooove! I have washed multiple times and they still SMELL.3rd pair also smell but like the thing inserted in packaging for moisture even after multiple washings and machine dried. order #2 and 3 in addition to the gold stitching are thicker and darker fabric. not dark but darker than the ones I liked.I wish I could buy a pair just like the first pair. light color, light thread, light and soft fabric, good fit and comfortable but I obviously can't count on that! I really like the fit and feel of these jeans. I am wearing them today for the 1st time and did not notice the 'frayed' look on the light blue jean ones that I ordered. I would prefer they didn't have that and the pair I received actually have a small hole were the fray is. I do see the sample pair does show the fray, I just wanted to make sure someone didn't miss this like I did.
