Review: EZ Build, Quality - I have no Earthly idea how some customers found this difficult to build. Open the box, follow the instructions 4 very small pages with pictures. All important notes on assembly are highlighted by close up photos. Unless you pay absolutely zero attention to the included instructions this kit slaps together in about 30 minutes! Peeling of the protective paper is another complaint I have read. This also is NOT TRUE. Sure peeling the left and the right side are a VERY small chore, the clear shelves protective film flies off with ease! Just take your time on peeling the side stickers off and you will have no issues at all. The case fan is a standard computer fan with LED's that you can option to leave them turned off. Just don't connect the wire! There is 1 set of wires for fan power and 1 set LEDs. The set for LEDs is already SPLIT. However, the fan power is a 2 to 1 plug. (Meaning a solid plug for both red/black wires) The case is sturdy once assembled and owners of the Ice Tower (Vertical model) will have to leave off the top shelf to accommodate the tower's tall size. I might also suggest a drop of thermal compound rather than the heat transfer tape supplied with the Ice Tower Fan (SOLD SEPERATELY). The kit arrived packaged very well. A small compact box and everything inside wrapped neatly. The small bits (screws, nuts) are actually provided in an organized plastic case that I will keep for the rest of my future Pi projects. I use an SSD (SOLD SEPARATELY) on my Pi and overclocked it to 2 Ghz, so the extra cooling was wanted, not needed. DO buy a POWERED USB 3.0 hub for adding extra drives as the fans (Ice Tower and Front Case Fan) have plenty of juice to run on without any voltage drops causing random errors. I found cheap USB hubs here on desertcart fairly easy. Just check the comments as some USB hubs do NOT work for the Pi no matter how much they cost or how great they do on other machines. Tendak is the brand I am running and it works GREAT, so far. (It's new & inexpensive) StarTech makes a great USB to SATA connection cable and the Pi's love it. The Tendak connection USB also had zero issues on my Pi 4B. SSD is Kingston A400. A proven SSD. All in all, great case! Looks great! Builds easy! Packaged very well! HAPPY!
Review: Its pretty Cool and cooling even if it does have RGB lights. - I was impressed at how well this was packed in the product box (not the shipment box). Part of this was a small screwdriver and a nice container for the standoffs, bolts and screws and such. I will continue to use this container to store stuff. Each plastic piece has a protective covering that will need to be peeled off. Be sure to remove this covering before assembly but I would recommend not removing the covering until you need to because the plastic is a fingerprint magnet. The instructions are OK not great but it not hard to figure out. One thing that is not documented is that the fan only goes in one way with the wires at the top of the case. If you try to put it in any other way the fan notches will not line up with the notch holes in the sides. All the pieces are nicely etched and fit together well. Its important to note that the RGB lights CAN BE left unpowered (i.e. off). More importantly the fan is very quiet and pushes a lot of air across the device shelves that contain, in my case, Raspberry Pi's. The shelves are in a fixed position but there is plenty of space for hats and such. I use my Pi's to run ESXI-Arm and as we all know Pi's run a bit hot and running Esxi they can run very hot. I had another bramble/cluster case that held 4 Pi's and while I liked the small case however the Pi's temp quickly was at 80C and throttled and this was with ShimFans . Not good. I bought GeekPi case and its a pretty amazing I've been running it and the Pi's for 24 hours now and none of the Pi's have exceeded 34C. If you are setting up a bramble and plan to run anything serious get this case! I have shimFans and this GeekPi case and will recommend these to anyone. Its really Cool almost cold. :-)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how loud is the fan?**
A: If you run the fan on stock 5V you will hear it.  I am running it on 3V and it's quieter with core temps at 32' C (no load).

**Q: How many Pi4s will this fit? It looks like there could be enough room for 8.**
A: There's a 4 layer and an 8 layer, 4 holds 4, 8 holds 8.  I bought the 8 layer and used 4 for the pis and 4 for ssd drives.  Keeps everything really cool under heaby loads.

**Q: can you turn off the LED?**
A: Yes. It comes with two pairs of wires. Power and ground for the fan. Power and ground for the LED. Just plug in what you want.

**Q: I am looking to mount two pi 4s with the ice tower coolers.  is that possible, one on the bottom, one on the top?**
A: If you take out shelving that might work.  The bar on top might also need to be removed.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost perfect!

So, first the good stuff... I love this little unit for my raspberry pi stack. The fan is nice and quiet (much quieter than the tiny fans you get in the kits) and I don't know why, but I just love the LED lights. The screw and other assembly parts fit together nicely and the resin pieces are sturdy and beautiful. Now for the less fun part. The rack comes with Micro SD extenders that are supposed to plug into the back of the pi where the SD card is inserted and provide access to the card from the front of the rack. The purpose of this is so you can access the card without disassembling the entire unit. Of the four extenders I received, NONE of them were functional. That's ZERO. (And I installed them correctly... the pi would boot part way and then freeze.) I replaced them with extenders from another vendor and now everything is working fine. No boot problems and no connection problems. There weren't a lot of options for a rack like this with a nice, big fan, so my choices were limited and I really needed the quieter fan. Was my purchase worth it? Absolutely! But it was not without a bit of pain... YMMV.
