First the instructions are practically nonexistent, Second this is ONLY an access point, now a wireless booster or router.  It MUST be plugged into the modem in order to receive the internet.  It might work in a hotel setting or office where a room needs to be converted to wireless from an internet LAN connection, but it will not serve to extend you wireless signal of a wireless router.
