The battery doesn't last more than week if the machine is kept on. Requires you to keep it off and turn the dial when you or someone else wants candy; which sort of defeats the purpose of the sanitary hands free design. Speaking of which, the motion sensor stopped working properly after a couple of months. It's also limited to fairly small candies, otherwise it gets clogged. It wasn't worth my time to re-package it and go through the hassle of getting a replacement or refund.Fortunately a "tech-y" guy in my office ended up taking it apart and replacing the "quantity adjustment" knob with a push-button that we could push to dispense the candy. It works fine now, but the "auto" part of the dispenser is a thing of the past.I would NEVER recommend this item. I bought this for my desk at work so we could have treats without passing around germs. It works great when the batteries are not dead. It works with small candies like skittles or larger ones like peanut m&ms. It has a setting for a small serving or for larger serving. The reviews about the batteries are correct though. The batteries last for about 1 day even when I shut it off when leaving for the day.
