Review: Very little GoToRoom support - If you are going to use it with GoToRoom, expect very limited support. They cannot answer simple questions on their own software running on the device. The Poly software and device is good, but LogMeIn's GoToRoom is a challenge. Even if you purchase the unit directly from GoToRoom, I would not expect a different experience. There are very few people at their company who know the product and you cannot talk to them.
Review: After the Warranty: To the Dumpster! - I purchased this Poly for my business in 10/2020. The operating system was upgraded last week. This week the Studio 50 stopped working. Poly (now an HP company) has told me that the "device has become defective" and it is out of warranty. I asked if this means that I should throw it in the dumpster. Poly said "no" but offered no suggestion on how to fix it , even on a paid basis. Poly's answer should have been: "Yes, please throw it in the dumpster." What a shame. The product looked nice, performed well and filled an important need in the office for video conferencing - until it stopped working! That was a a lot of money for less than 3 years of service. I guess Poly/HP does not expect a lot of repeat customers, or even happy customers.

**Q: Work with Google Meet?**
A: Yes it will work with Google Meet because it operates like a webcam for your computer. So if you’re in Google Meet, you’d just select this item for your video (and also for your audio if you’d like). 

Since this connects to a computer as if it were a webcam, it should generally work with any popular video conferencing software or any video calls (Skype, Zoom, Google Meet, Go-To-Meeting, etc.)

**Q: Can the x50 be used with a laptop to share documents while on a call?**
A: Once the x50 is configured as a Zoom room (which requires a Zoom room license), then yes, you can share content from a laptop wirelessly during a zoom meeting.  Anyone in the room will be able to share content if they have the zoom client installed on the laptop.

**Q: Is this compatible with Microsoft Teams?**
A: According to Polycom the Studio X series will support Teams soon.

**Q: Does it come with the TC8?**
A: We do “TelVoIP”

If you are going to use it with GoToRoom, expect very limited support. They cannot answer simple questions on their own software running on the device. The Poly software and device is good, but LogMeIn's GoToRoom is a challenge. Even if you purchase the unit directly from GoToRoom, I would not expect a different experience. There are very few people at their company who know the product and you cannot talk to them.

This is one of the worst and most unreliable devices I've ever used. The materials feel cheap and low quality. It has no power button or menu buttons, because it's intended to be plug-and-play, but it runs into errors with almost every laptop we connect it to. There's no remote, you need to go buy an analog mouse to control it and leave that plugged in, leaving you with a lot of cable management. We have audio or visual problems almost every week. It almost always needs to be restarted, which in its case means unceremoniously unplugging it and plugging it back in, since it doesn't have a power button. The whole device feels like a half-finished mistake. Avoid buying this at all costs.
