It was a little spendy but it's totally worth it, I looked at others about half the price and it was much more difficult to adjust or they slipped off. This securely holds it in place without the rope slipping down and you can mount it to pretty much anything because it taps around with the rope. One thing you'll need to do is take the fender grip to the store with you when you get your rope tho so you get the right size rope, too big wont with thru and too small will slide out without the grip being able to lock it in place. I paid $20 each last year and I got 2, $15 for them now is not a bad deal either **Q: How would you hook it up to a cleat?** A: Hi Dawn, to use the Fendergrip on a cleat, form a large loop at the top and place the loop around the horns of the cleat; the Fendergrip will lay on its side next to the cleat.
