Featuring a new molded rim strip and a removable Presta valve core, it allows easy sealant top-ups without tire removal. Dual sealing points help maintain tire pressure, while the no-glue design lets riders switch back to tubes if needed. Ideal for riders seeking improved grip and flat protection on rocky terrain, though initial installation requires patience and proper technique.

## Description

The original kit for 29er wheels. Applications are limited with the newer rim designs on the market but it is designed to fit the Mavic 520 Touring, Sun Rhyno Lite 29er and similar rims.

Review: Pain to install. LOVE IT ON THE TRAIL - Most important thing you need to have is PATIENCE. I installed this on my MTN bike which was NOT tubeless ready. I have a cheap 29er hardtail from Nashbar and had 4 flats in a month, I like to run ~21 psi in my tires. I was getting pinch flats and normal punctures. I love not having tubes. Instantly I could feel more connected to the trail, I had more grip and did not worry about pinch flats. I do think it leaks out air faster then a tube. I need to air my tires before every ride. It drops from 22 psi to ~16psi over a week or two. STAN'S EXPERIENCE FIRST TIME: It took ~2 hours to get both tires on proper. Watch videos on youtube to help you. I struggled and fought with mine all evening to get them to seat. Then the tire was inflated but not seated properly and wobbled when I spun it. I had to take it apart and do it again. I got sealant on the floor, my hands and the wheel. This was with bead tires. I ended up changing my rear rim tape out for thicker 3/4 inch tape as the spokes were constantly leaking. SECOND TIME EXPERIENCE: I had to change a tire after a year and was not looking forward to this as the inside of the rim/tire was full of sticky Stan's sealant. It went much better and I only had trouble getting the tire to seat evenly which was fixed with soapy water. This was a fold-able tire. TIPS: 1. Remove valve core with a adjustable wrench when inflating the first time. Air goes in faster. 2. I used an air compressor with just the quick release end. Push the quick release and it will inflate the tire instantly to 50-60 psi and seat the tire. 3. Put soapy water around the tire bead and rim edge to help it seat. 4. Hold tire/wheel horizontal and shake to get sealant all over 5. Bounce wheel on ground, rotate 2 inches, bounce, repeat around wheel twice 6. Lay on bucket horizontal for 15 min, flip to other side 7. Wipe soapy water around wheel looking for leaks. Shake to get sealant in leaking areas. BOTTOM LINE: It is a pain to install the first time BUT I have not had one flat in the year I have been using Stan's. I ride 2-4 times a week on rocky terrain with low psi. I did add more sealant after a year to both tires. I took out the valve core and used a big 50ml syringe from CVS to put sealant in. I added ~60ml to the tire.
Review: Will not stay sealed and makes a bit of a mess - Using these on a set of tubeless ready 29er rims and some brand new Tubeless ready nobby nic tires. Cleaned each rim completely and followed the instructions, taped the rims up, added sealant then seated each tire with a quick blast of compressed air. Let the sealant move about each tire resting it on each side and spraying and checking for leaks which none were found. The tires with this no tube setup result in a deflated tire in two days and always requiring a refill of air each day to stay inflated. I’m thinking that while the tire is sealed when installed and checked each ride results in a loss of air and a consequent leak which winds up with flat tires each time requiring a reblast to reseat each time. Disappointed with the added steps and hassle each time I ride with this setup compared to running tubes including cleanup if the bike tires went flat and the sealant leaks out. If it would stay sealed it would be great but each time having to reseat and deal per ride makes it unreliable for me.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works!
*by Y***K on November 24, 2012*

Before you start anything, borrow, buy or rent a compressor with reservoir for inflating your tires. DO NOT TRY if you have a flimsy hand pump or one of those small tire inflators without a reservoir. TAKE YOUR TIME, NO RUSH. I installed 1 Maxxis Ardent and 1 Maxxis Ignitor on Inferno 25 rims. I follow the instructional video (YouTube) and it worked. I took my time, let the rims and tires rest on each side for several hours, shaking it time to time. At the beginning, The tires were losing some pressure but nothing dramatic, currently, the pressure stays the same. I inflated my tires at 26 and 28 psi, I weight 173 lbs, and the riding comfort is hugely improved. No pinch flats anymore, you gain at least 1" of extra cushioning!
