It sits perfectly flat on floor, has nice even shape, good grip. All except my hands are too large to use both hands comfortably. When doing kettle swings there is no rooms for my pinky fingers, which makes it feel very awkward as all my other cheaper bells have ample room for both hands. I love the quality of this bell, but if you have XL sized hands, I would consider other options. I ordered the 16kg btw. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Why didn't I get this sooner?! *by X***S on Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2013* Let me be frank: I've avoided getting a kettlebell for the last 6 years. I met John Du Cane back then, practically before anyone knew what a kettlebell was, and he put one in my hands and showed me how to do a kettlebell swing. "Okay," I thought, "that's fun, but what's the big deal? It's a glorified, single-weight, dumbbell." But, being a fitness product geek, I also thought, "It could be fun to own one of these."And then I saw the price! No way I was going to spend that kind of cash.Over the next few years, as I'm sure you know, kettlebells became more and more popular. But I just stuck to what I was doing: mostly squats and deadlifts. Oh, and in the meantime, I became a Masters All-American sprinter, one of the fastest guys over the age of 50 in the country.Then three years ago, when trying over some nagging injuries, I found out that I had a broken spine! It probably happened 30 years ago when I was an All-American gymnast. I was still able to lift and run, but I started to look for alternatives to the heavy loading on my spine and started thinking about kettlebells again.But I still didn't want to spend $2-3 pound. So, I made a do-it-yourself "fake kettlebell" with some weight plates and plumbing pipe and added swings to my workout. In fact, I've been working such long hours (at www.XeroShoes.com) that I brought my "weight-bell" into the office and would do swings a few times a day.I quickly got up to 85 pounds on my "bell" and really liked using it -- gave me a great full-body workout that really hit my glutes/hamstrings (which, as a sprinter, is what I want to work) -- but I also felt a bit unstable. The "bell" itself felt like it could snap. The weight felt like it was swinging too much. The grip wasn't solid.So, two weeks ago, I finally thought, "Okay, it's time to get a real kettlebell."I poked around online and found the Tekbell 40kg bell (I searched for kettlebells with free shipping).Delivery was fast (my UPS guy was NOT happy ;-) )... and now I feel like a jerk for having waited so long to get one of these.If you haven't used a kettlebell before, get one of these. The balance of the weight is SO much better than my DIY version. I feel much more stable doing swings, and there are obviously lots of things I couldn't do with my jury-rigged version that I can do with this one -- I've been able to add 1-legged deadlifts, goblet squats, presses, and other movements that you need a handle, or a solid weight for.If you have used a bell, you'll love this one. The grip is really slip-resistant without being abrasive (and the handle is thick enough to almost require a good grip). The finish is nice and clean. And, I'll admit, I like how imposing it looks in my office ;-) ### ⭐⭐ Good function, crude quality *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2013* This is a review of the 24 kg Tekbell kettlebell.In the functional areas that matter most for performing exercises, this kettlebell is a pretty good product:-Bottom is machined flat and sits level on the floor-The part of the handle you are likely to grip is smooth, but not slick, allowing for a good grip (but there are rough spots elsewhere...see below)-The e-coat is more durable than the enamel paint found on CAP kettlebells (which can chip)-Handle is thick and not weldedHowever, there are some defects in both design and manufacture that set it apart from the best in class products:-Handle isn't wide enough to fit your pinkies around the grip if you have big hands (as noted in other reviews).-There are rough burrs (at least on mine) where the handle joins the body. You're not likely to grip down there, but if you do, you could tear your hand up pretty easily unless you bust out your Dremel tool and file them down-The overall fit and finish is definitely on the crude side. Both the kilogram indicator and the brand label are off-center. The round area where the label goes isn't exactly round. The surface of the body has lots of pits and crevasses.That being said, most of the quality crudeness shouldn't affect your ability to get a good workout with the product (except perhaps for the handle size issue if you have big hands).But is it good value for money? For comparison:Tekbell 24 kg = $118.75 (same as Dragon Door). Shipping = $0. Total = $118.75Dragon Door 24 kg = $118.75. Shipping = $35.90. Total = $154.65Kettle Bells USA Metrixx 24 kg = $89.99. I have both the 25 lb and 35 lb and, if you don't abuse them, they should last quite some time. They're great value for money.If you want a super premium product, the Dragon Door is top of the class. (Tekbell's pricing would lead one to believe one is getting a Dragon Door quality kettlebell with free shipping...you're not.)For a *slightly* less premium product, the Kettle Bells USA Metrixx is almost as good as the Dragon Door, and is about $50 cheaper.But you'll notice that the Kettle Bells USA Metrixx is just a few cents cheaper than the Tekbell, and it is better built.While the Tekbell kettlebell is a decently functional product, I can't recommend it at this price when compared to the alternatives.
