I have terrible lower back pain that keeps me up at night. I'm constantly on a heating pad. I'm hoping this helps. I used it for 5 minutes on the lower settings then moved to middle for another 5. The middle setting kind of took my breath away a little bit (hurts) but I tried to keep myself distracted by playing a game on my phone. I could feel each one pop in which felt great.then, I turned it around so the smaller end was the other direction and did it again but lower and was able to stretch it out through my neck.
