Review: Exactly as Described; Large and Light - Disclosure: wash them before using them. You CAN use them before, but they get better with each wash. Pros: It's large, absorbent, lightweight (smaller when folded than my regular terry-towels) and has a very resort feel. I personally like the rougher texture. They also dry stupid fast. Also breezy for hot days, so cool. Cons: They are a bit thin, so not a good towel to cuddle in warmth for. Also, others may not like the mild scratchy ness. It gets softer with subsequent washes. Overall, worth the price if you want a tough, light, absorbent towel with a resort vibe to them. Would buy again.
Review: Luxurious and practical spa-sized towels—easily upgraded with a hanging loop - Folks, I have dried off with my last damp terry towel. At some point in my life I went from loving the luxe fluffy towels of my youth to resenting their inability to dry out between showers and—as my family grew to four adult-size people—their tendency to take up multiple loads of laundry every week and still retain that wet-dog adolescent funk. Enter the waffle weave. No, it’s not the 00’s epitome of towel meringue. No, it’s not like wrapping yourself in a My Little Pony cloud. However, if you can set those aside in favor of actually getting dry after your shower, waffle is your best bet. Despite being thin and sorta scrubby (in a good way!), they are quick to absorb water. The same magical surface area that sucks the water off your skin also causes it to evaporate efficiently (and thoroughly) between showers. They will soften over time, but will always lack the loop texture that gives terry cloth towels their fluffy softness (while also retaining water and breeding the bacteria that yield that wet dog permastink). That said, good waffle towels are not cheap. Switching is an investment and with teenagers routinely swiping my towels to take to the lake or park with their friends, I didn’t want anything too precious. Waffle bath sheets for less than $30 each (on Prime Day) makes Gilden Tree my Goldilocks towel. The Seafoam is a soothing blue-green that would likely complement beach or spa color schemes. One quibble: these need a hanging loop. Without it, you will eventually damage the woven fabric by hanging it on a hook, stressing that one spot above the hook over and over. Thankfully, this is an easy fix with some cotton twill tape (I used 3/8”), embroidery scissors (or a seam ripper) to pull out a few stitches, needle, and thread. See attached photo for an example. You could totally leave the twill white (or natural or whatever color you purchase). I happened to have some procion dye in a similar color (Dharma Kingfisher Blue to match the Seafoam towel), so I ice dyed a yard of the twill tape (and some white cotton embroidery floss to match) and picked the dyed sections for my hanging loops that best matched the towel.

## Features

- Classic Style: Embrace timeless elegance with our European inspired waffle towels. Crafted with small waffles and accented by two stripes of smaller waffles, these luxury bath towels add a subtle touch of classic sophistication to any bathroom.
- Super Absorbent Bath Sheets: Made from OEKO-TEX Standard 100 long-staple cotton, the honeycomb waffles wick away water and gently exfoliate skin making them the ideal shower towels.
- 100% Cotton Bath Towels: These extra large bath towels are intentionally oversized to account for shrinkage. Measuring 40" x 80" before washing, expect 12-15% shrinkage. They also make a great oversized beach towel, picnic blankets, beach blanket, cruise must haves, camping blanket, travel towel - you name it, these large towels can do it all!
- Goodbye, Damp Towels: Quick dry towel dries your body completely and dries in half the time of traditional terry towels, saving you 40% on energy and time. The breathable weave of our waffle towels for bathroom stays fresh and odor-free, even in damp bathrooms. Lint-free and snag-free.
- Lightweight Waffle Bath Towels: Completely wraps around your body and stays tucked in. Naturally thin bath towels take up less space in your closet, laundry machine, beach towel bag, pool towels bag, suitcase, boat, camper, RV or yacht.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why waffle weave?**
A: Terry towels often hold onto moisture deep in the loops which causes them to stay damp & get stinky. Waffle towels are different - after washing & shrinking they form waffle squares exposing more surface area that allows them to breathe & stay fresh

**Q: Do you have another style of waffle towel?**
A: Yes! We have two styles: Classic Style & Modern Style. Both are made of 100% Natural Cotton, super absorbent & quick drying. But they do feature different fabric thickness, styling & colors. Check out our Amazon Store to view more details.

**Q: Where are the towels made?**
A: Made in Pakistan. Owners, Kumy (a Pakistani-American) & his wife Ann (a native Nebraskan), have had close ties to farmers & manufacturers in Pakistan since 1990, & are proud of their pioneering & ongoing support of environmentally-safe manufacturing.

**Q: What size of towels do you have?**
A: Washcloth: 14.5 x 14.5" Hand Towel: 20 x 40" Bath Towel: 32 x 62" Bath Sheet: 40 x 80" (Measurements before washing, expect 12-15% shrinkage)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ LOVE these towels
*by C***. on August 13, 2019*

I LOVE these towels. A lot. So why the four stars? I'm knocking one star off for price, but if these towels go the distance (more than a few months of daily washing without becoming less absorbent or frayed) I will absolutely up my review to five stars. I'm a big fan of thin towels, but they also have to be absorbent. I have tried "waffle weave" towels before, the ones with the loft/terry on the grid, but after a while the absorbency disappears and the loft goes out of the towel and the towels are basically just flat pieces of cloth. These Gilden Tree towels are completely different. There is NO LOFT or TERRY anywhere on these towels- NO LOOPS. When you get them they are super flat, pretty much the thickness of a common dishtowel. I was really concerned when I pulled them out of the package (and they were wrapped in thin plastic, too- no nice presentation in a laundry bag or recyclable packaging, which was a disappointment, considering the price) and they were just like extra thick bed sheets. But then I threw them in the wash (twice) and the towels basically shrunk and curled up, creating the waffle texture. It's kind of like what happens to one of those magic sponge cloths where they come flat like a piece of paper, and once you wet them they grow. The thing is, when you dry these towels, they remain a little more plush and fluffy (and the edges curl/ripple, too- so if you are a stickler about your towels being folded and on the shelf with crisp edges, these will make you crazy.) After that wash/dry, these towels became instant favorites. They are super absorbent, quicker to dry, stay white in the wash, and they don't have that cheap feel like most other thin towels I have purchased. If these last I will replace all my other bathroom and pool linens with them- it will be worth the huge investment. One note- they are NOT soft. If you want a comfy, plushy, soft experience against your skin, these are not for you. But if you are looking for a thinner towels that absorbs and feels good and dry and light against the skin- never heavy and damp even after you've draped it on your after a shower- these are for you. Highly recommended, but that price (and the packaging...)
