Easy to keep the battery charged in a rarely used car. Simple and easy to use.

I tested this solar charger on a cloudy day using a multimeter and it was producing about 17.8 volts, so it definitely generates power even without direct sunlight. I installed it yesterday, and today I noticed my car battery has been staying very consistent around 12.2–12.3 volts. I already know my battery isn’t in the best condition anymore, but the charger is clearly helping maintain it. I also have a Viper SmartStart system, which constantly drains a little power from the battery. Before installing the solar charger, my battery would usually drop to around 11.8 volts overnight. Since installing this panel, the voltage has stayed steady at 12.2V since about 6 AM, which honestly surprised me. So far it’s doing exactly what a trickle charger/maintainer should do, keeping the battery from draining while the car sits. For a small 10W panel, I’m impressed. I would keep checking and see if anything change.

Not a bad little solar charger, been through rain, snow and ice storm and still working fine. Would buy again if it ever stops working.

I placed it on the dash of my 2015 Town & Country van on May 15th parked in Cape Canavera Returned on 10/11. Van started right up.

Very slow for a trickle charger

I have used similar solar chargers for years on my lawn equipment. These were added for use on my collector vehicles that are stored in a location without power making a Battery Tender unusable. They have a higher output that the units I use on the lawn equipment and a shorter cord. However, the cord is heavier gage, and the terminal clips are better quality. It will be a few months before I can get the vehicles out again, I am hoping these will supply an adequate charge over the winter. The other brand has worked well on the lawn equipment. Prior to using them I was replacing batteries every spring; we just finished the 3rd year on the current batteries.

I originally tried using this panel for my truck and it made my batt. go dead. I thought maybe i left the lights on or something so i jumped, charged, tested batt. and tried again. Same result. So i tried using it as a "power bank" recharger but my "power bank" is a brand new off the shelf 690cca car battery. I drained the batt. to 11.6v from use then disconnected the batt. and hooked up ONLY the panel. All day with no clouds, solar panel squared off to the sun. From 8a.m. to 6p.m. (Yes, it is winter. I understand..) The batt. dropped to 10.9v and was so brand new that simply leaving it sit with nothing connected it recharged itself to 12.3v by the next morning. Figured maybe indid something wrong so i tried it again. Same batt. same result. It does not produce enough power in winter even with no clouds. So only useful in summer months. (if at all. Yet to be determined.) EDIT: Turns out i got a broken one. They replaced the panel at no cost to me (besides my batteries the 1st panel killed...) It is not strong... or quick.... (or very useful) With just this panel charging a 12v 12ah/20hr U.P.S. battery it took almost all week.. It did ultimately charge it full but it took well over enough time to do it. I wouldnt really consider this to be much of a trickle charger. Barely a maintainer. EDIT: I increased my rating from 1 star to 2 stars based on the only real use i can find for a 10w panel that automatically shuts off.(Not just for a bit either. It shuts off UNTIL you disconnect and reconnect it manually once it hits ??? Some predetermined random voltage it seems like half the time.) I digress... The edit is for this purpose; If you use this panel as a makeshift battery charger i.e.- AA,AAA,C,D, and 9 volts(<<mostly 9 volts) IT DOES WORK PRETTY WELL! Honestly, with vigilant supervision, this panel has saved me quite a bit of $$$. (Almost as much $ as the first broken one cost me by totally killing a 140$+ car battery. Almost..)

I don't drive my car as much as I should and therefore have been using a 240v trickle charger to keep it charged but it isn't convenient rolling out an extension lead. This solar charger has solved that problem and is working very well. The cable runs under the seals on a closed door and under the bonnet with no problem.

dopo averlo provato qualche giorno, per tenere in vita la mia vecchia batteria dell'auto (di quelle costose fatte per essere continuamente caricate) ho deciso di prenderne subito un'altro!! In pratica il pannello lo danno per 10 watt, ovvero 700-800 milliampere , il voltaggio a vuoto si aggira sui 19 volt, con il carico arriva sui 14 circa, nel mio caso ho un consumo fisso intorno ai 400-500 milliampere (dovuto anche all'antifurto tracker gps) quindi se ho la batteria in perfetta forma (quasi mai visto che l'auto fa pochi chilometri e sta ferma per 1 settimana) si riesce a non rimanere a piedi....ovvero non si carica ne si scarica...ma ricordiamoci che adesso il sole e' molto forte!! e quindi abbiamo quei 10 watt detti belli pieni. Prendendone due....collegati in parallelo, mi assicuro di avere un 1500Mha in uscita verso la batteria quindi, almeno 1 ampere per la ricarica della stessa, anche nei giorni di meno luminosita ho abbastanza carica di mantenimento e una leggera ricarica. Prodotto promosso al 100% molto ben fatto anche nei collegamenti , e ovviamente Amazon sempre veloce e precisa.
