Exceptional Protection!
I had ordered this case for my new phone many months ago (was the S10 5G version), but missed the window to leave a review, so I wanted to be sure to review this one, which I purchased for my son's phone. At first, (when ordering mine), I was apprehensive about purchasing a case that only fit around the back and honestly didn't seem to have much to it. I've always kept every one of my previous phones in cases, yet every one of them ended up with damage/cracked screens despite this. Still not wanting to shell out the substantial price for the 2 piece Otterbox, and after exhaustively reading phone case reviews, I decided to give this Spigen Tough Armor case a try and am superbly happy that I did. This case has done a perfect job keeping my phone safe and damage-free for close to a year now (*knock on wood* 🤜🪵) despite countless accidental drops onto many a hard surface! So when I bought my son his first phone, I knew I could count on Spigen Tough Armor to protect his phone, as well! The most important aspect of any phone case is how well it protects the phone, and this case certainly does that and does it well! The fit is perfect on both my phone and his, also lining up perfectly with the volume/power control buttons creating no difficulty there. The design is sleek and simple, not adding any unnecessary bulk or heaviness to either device. The material the case is made from is neither too slick nor too sticky, but is just right. One issue I've encountered in the past with rubber cases is junk sticking to it, and this one doesn't do that, either. It remains clean and sleek. I had read several reviews stating that the kickstand had broken off, wouldn't stay put, stopped closing, etc., but we've had no issue with ours. Mine has become loose when I pop it out to use, but it still works perfectly to prop up the phone when needed and pops back into place and stays there when not in use. I also added a ring stand on the back and it had stayed stuck with no issues at all. (I only mention that because some cases; even hard ones like this, you can't stick rings or pop ups on the back because they just fall right off. This one will securely hold them if you're a person who wishes to use those on your device). I have no complaints at all about this phone case. It is a high quality case with exceptional phone protection that will last! And all at an affordable price.

Truly is an iPhone SE 2020 case
I was happy this came from Amazon so quickly because--as anyone who has an iPhone SE 2020 phone knows--they're slippery little things! I couldn't tell you how many times I set mine on the sofa or on my lap, and the next thing I knew it would be lying on the floor, almost as if it had a mind of its own. Though this case doesn't have a rough finish on the back, it isn't as smooth as the back of the phone itself, and so far, my phone hasn't taken any unexpected trips off the couch. Here's what I like about the Spigen case: 1-It was actually designed for the iPhone SE 2020. I saw on Amazon that some people suggest using an iPhone 8 case if they don't want to buy a new one, but the Apple insignia is located near the top of that phone; it's lower on the back of the SE 2020. That means the cut-out for the apple on the 8 cases doesn't align with the apple on the new phone. Not a big deal for everyone, but after spending a lot of money on a new phone, I wanted a case designed for that particular phone. Everything aligns perfectly with this case. 2-The cost. Because this is a new phone, there aren't as many case choices as there are for older iPhones so I had a little trouble finding something I liked that didn't cost as much as an Otterbox or other big brand ( a.k.a. expensive) case. This one was much more reasonably priced. 3-The look. As soon as I saw it, I thought this was a sharp-looking case! The back has a kind of muted darker red matte finish--not the shiny bright red color of the phone itself--and there are black accents and black edges/sides. The edges add a little depth to the phone and which makes it easy to grip so I feel more confident that the phone won't slip out of my hand when I carry it around. 4-Kickstand. There's a small kickstand on the back for people who like to stand their phone up while doing other things. One caveat though--the phone has to be horizontal; if you try to put it in a vertical position, the phone will fall over. (ask me how I know!) I personally think the angle of the phone when using the kickstand is lower than what I would like, and it feels a little flimsy to me, but it's not a deal breaker because I probably won't use it anyway. I saw in questions that people wondered if the case came with a protective front. It doesn't. However, the edges of the case are raised a little--almost like a bumper--so if the phone gets dropped on its face, my guess is that it won't break. I wanted more protection, though, so I ordered a protective glass cover. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this case and would recommend it.

Substantial With Functionality
So many different cases to choose from it’s mind boggling. I think most people are looking for pretty much the same; protection, functionality and to some extent fashion. The Spigen Tough Armor checks all those boxes pretty well. First should be protection. Let’s face it ... it’s needed. Holding my new iPhone 2020 SE out of the box was a delicious delight. Its silky smooth rounded edges begged for fingers to tap on the screen. However it has all the grip of a hard boiled egg. A disaster waiting to happen. The moment I slid my phone into the Spigen Tough Armor all those concerns evaporated. Now I can lightly place it between my thumb and a couple of finger tips without waiting for it to slip away and crash to the ground. The Spigen adds grip to any position you choose to hold it in. After all isn’t that why we buy cases in the first place? It adds a nice raised lip that was made for the tip of your thumb to lock onto. Yes, it changes the appearance (and form) of your smartphone but what good is a beautiful iPhone with a cracked screen or worse a broken body? Next is functionally. If it’s a hassle to switch the mute button or press the volume up and down what good is a protective case? Spigen spent a little time engineering this one so those issues are not an issue. All buttons press effortlessly and the mute switch is nicely exposed for proper operation. I did have some concerns about the gimmicky prop stand but it snaps tightly into the rear body and I’ll probably leave it there and forget about it. Lastly would be fashion. This isn’t an ugly case as cases go but it is a case and there’s no hiding the fact it looks like one. It has some heft about it but that’s because if you do drop the phone your day probably isn’t going to be ruined. If you’ve already decided to put your phone into a protective case I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better candidate than the Spigen Tough Armor. I’m very pleased with mine however your miles may vary. Happy hunting.

Looks awesome, but kickstand is useless to me
I needed a case to use with my Flygrip (it won't stick to glass) and though this one has a kickstand in the way, I kept coming back to it as my wife has the same case for her phone. I've used a lot of cases including some of the more popular cases (has defender in its name) and for the most part, I don't like cases. Super protective cases add bulk, and slim cases are flimsy, and all the clear ones yellow after a year, it's just how they're made. The Spigen Tough Armor is a protective case that feels nice. It's a little bulkier than I'd like, but it's a fair compromise. I got the red case to go with my red iPhone SE, and it's stunning, especially with a red wallpaper. I don't even like red, but it's hard to beat the look of this phone in this case. (Long story why I got the red SE over the black one, I won't go into it.) My only issue with the case is, it has a hole for the Apple logo, and this weird kickstand, which is ironic as a complaint because after a Motorola phone with a kickstand, I swore I'd never use a phone without a kickstand. I've since used a Flygrip; I've tried similar products (including the one with socket in its name) and none measure up. They're way cheaper but I hate using them, so I pay more for a premium product (that is made in the US) that I like. I've looked at a bunch of cases that don't have the hole or the kickstand, but those plusses never quite compensated for the minuses of not using this otherwise amazing case. So I altered the Flygrip's adhesive tape for the hole and just stuck it over the edge of the kickstand (centered on back). That made the built-in kickstand useless, though it's entirely my fault for having a niche case. But, I think it goes to show that having two issues with this case (which is really just one: points of ingress for dust) and knowing those issues going in did not stop me from choosing this case in the first place. And again, it's not our first Spigen Tough Armor: we also have the Galaxy S10e version, and that one is equally impressive. It may or may not be fair to knock a star off for the case not meeting my needs. If I could rate it 4.5/5 I would, but I can't give it a perfect score, though I will note again that is down to me not liking cases in general, and me knowingly buying a case with features I don't like. If you're looking for a case and you like the way this one works, this is the one. The buttons all function fine, and the mute switch is easily accessed. I keep my nails trimmed and I have no problem flipping it. Solid protection all around. The diagrams make it look like it doesn't add that much bulk. It really does, it adds up. It doesn't really feel like an iPhone in a case, but for a case, it's a damn good one. And I still pick it up and turn it around and just look at it all over.

Very Happy!
Update (Nov. 7, 2023): My phone survived an accidental 3 ft drop with this case, after also bouncing on the corner and landing face down. No signs of damage whatsoever from this fall, so I'm going to go ahead and update my review from 4 to 5 stars! Also, when it comes to the tactile nature of the side buttons, that has mostly been a non-issue, after I got used to it. Original Review (a month after purchase): I have been using this case for a month now and overall, I'm pretty happy with it. It's slim and simple. This is my first case from Spigen, having previously used an ESR case with my old iPhone. The kickstand is one feature that helped solidify my choice and, so far, it has been very convenient to have, for those odd times that I need it. However, it can be difficult to pull out with your fingernail. Usually takes two tries. When pushed in, it does lie completely flat with the back of the case. Now, since I'm not trying to drop my phone, I can't say if my phone would survive a fall in this case. I'll certainly update this review if such a fall does happen, though. Until then, I do have some concerns. The back plate isn't glued in place and I guess it isn't designed to be. If you are switching your phone to silent mode, your finger can push down and pop up the corner of the back plate. Not a big deal, since you just pop it back into place, but it does worry me a bit. Speaking of the back plate, it got a scratch in it at some point. That's on me, and it doesn't effect the integrity, but just know that the back plate can get scratched up. Some people have noted that it can be difficult to feel the side buttons and I have to agree. If muscle memory fails you, you'll find yourself pressing just above or bellow the power or volume buttons. The case I had for my old iPhone, which was an ESR model that is no longer available, had buttons raised just a millimeter higher than the side of the case and this really helped locate each one tactically, especially if the phone was in your pocket. This Spigen case will fit a standard glass screen protector and still leave about 1 millimeter of space between it and the lip of the case.

Durable, lasted four years. Case got dinged up but the phone is fine.
I bought the first one in Jul 2020 and it lasted me a little over four years. Recently the volume buttons started falling apart so I reordered the same case. It was only after I could see the two side by side that I could see how worn and beat-up my first case was. The kickstand still works fine and it still fits the phone well. I have dropped my phone multiple times and I only noticed there’s a gouged out bit from the right side of the case. It’s not super bulky and offers a little lip on the front to protect your screen from shattering on drops. The red has remained vibrant. I only added on the phone charm at the start of 2024 so that probably impacted the integrity by the volume buttons, causing it to fall apart the way it did. The case took a beating but my phone is perfectly fine. Outstanding product for the price.

Thin for those that want a bit of added protection
Spigen has great products. Great case that is protective yet thin. There is a thinner case (that my SO got) but not quite as protective. Both are great but you obviously have to pick based on need/use. He just wants something that only makes picking up the phone easier and I wanted a little more protection so got this. The kickstand wasn't needed but nice added feature that doesn't add bulk.

Perfect blend of protection and everyday usability
I have always used cases on my iPhones since my first 3G. Over the years, I’ve gone from minimalist cases to bulky protection-oriented cases and several in between. This particular case fits the precise niche I was looking for in that I wanted something to protect the very vulnerable back glass (which my wife broke on her iPhone 8) but not be so bulky or unwieldy as to forcibly cause me to drop it or otherwise inhibit normal usage and enjoyment of the iPhone SE (which is how I felt with the over-the-top Otterbox on my iPhone 4). I am most especially happy to see the extra impact absorption material in the back of the case to protect that beautiful but horribly impractical glass. I tried 5 different cases for the iPhone SE and this was by far the perfect balance for me. The edges are nice and blocky without being obtrusive, the front lip is a good size but does not seem to interfere with finger placement on the screen edges, all phone features are easily accessible, the side buttons are flush with the case so they do not stick out, and it overall just makes the phone feel slightly more substantial but not overly bulky. With that said, my one complaint is likely the little kickstand which only works in Landscape orientation and puts the volume buttons on the BOTTOM of the phone for some reason. This does not make much sense to me and the stand seems highly flimsy (I do not think the phone would fall under its own weight, but too much pressure and this will definitely snap. Overall, I highly recommend this case and I have returned all the others (with the exception of the most overly protective one which I saved for that poor iPhone 8 with the broken back that I mentioned above).

Super Passform, sehr preiswert.
Nun musste eine neue her.

Telefonum beyaz. Kırmızıyla güzel uydu. Ben kaba bulmadım. Kalın olması kaba olduğunu göstermez bence. Çünkü tasarımı hoş. Zaten ince olursa koruma oranı da azalıyor. Düşse aklım kalmaz. Tank gibi :) Tavsiye ederim.
