V39 Car Compass

Returned to Amazon. Dashboard errors were too numerous. The unit works great. However, the metal in my dashboard caused problems

I have figured out yet how this thing decides when to work and when not to. Sometimes it points west when im clearly going other directions like its almost stuck, yet it still bobs and turns slightly so it doesnt actually seem stuck. Other times it points accurately. Overall not very reliable UPDATE: Summer in Indiana has melted some internal part of the compass. All the fluid inside of it leaked out all over the dashboard and created a slippery smelly mess. Definitely do not buy this junk.

Item is a good quality. Problem - to find right place in the car. I found it's not 100% accurate but it's OK. Suddenly I can use only for daytime, need fluorescent for use night time.

This is a beautiful compass Not to big not to small 2" x 2". Its very sensitive. Just right for my dash and very nice looking. The only very big problem was my truck has a high level of magnetism every where on the dash and I have no where to place it! I suggest that you check that out on your vehicle with another compass before you purchase a more expensive compass. I will keep this compass, maybe as a gift for someone. So now I am looking for a GPS compass which works from the satellite's, it will need a 12volt hookup.

Attractive appearance and size. Six month warranty per the vendor. Overall, one of the better low-end compasses here. But because of electrical interfere in vehicles, buying any of them is throwing good money after bad and this one costing more than the others doesn't help. Jumps around excessively while driving and direction is too inaccurate. Not illuminated so effectively useless at night. Even so, I've always wanted one of these and would still consider keeping it for half of what it cost since it's better than nothing. Only real solution is spending a bundle on an OEM rear view mirror with a digital compass built in.

I read several reviews warning that the compass does not work, and others that said that it is just a matter of finding the right location to place the compass. I took a chance and bought this, and mounted it on my dashboard such that there are no metal parts enclosing it at all. In fact the compass itself is nearly directly open to the sky (with glass in between). The compass appeared to work correctly for the first week, but then it began to be completely off. I am looking at it on my desk right now, and where it should be pointing North, it is reading West. Unfortunately just as I decided to give up on it, the return window expired. So I am down $20 on a useless compass.

Too many electronics--it didn't have a chance though it worked great away from the car. I knew it would be a crapshoot getting one of these, but what the hey. Not its fault the car is a gigantic magnet. It's sturdy, simple, and well built. Oh well.

Dont waste your money!! Purchased LESS than 2 months ago - the water evaporated! Of course, they only give you 30 days to return, so it was just $23.00 for nothing!!

It doesn't work! North is not north on this compass. I bought it for my daughter to put in her vehicle so very disappointing. I waited too long so I can't return it now

Does not work in electric vehicle

The compass North points south. How they could get the printing on the compass wrong and actually try to sell it is beyond me.

The compass did not work anywhere inside our vehicle. It works fine outside and away from vehicle. It did not work as advertised.

Would not recommend. Fluid leaked out after three months of use.
