I finally used some WD40 degreasing spray, which helped loosen up the brown paper's adhesive.MOVA might consider reducing the size of the paper backing a tad -- or providing an adhesive-free edge on one side -- to make this procedure easier for new owners.Otherwise, I had no problem getting the globe to spin, setting it next to a table lamp I keep lit most of the day and evening.I am a little bit nervous wondering if this globe will survive weekly visits by my well-meaning but sometimes hurried cleaning lady. We will see...In the meantime, the only negative I can report beside the difficulty removing the protective paper on the base is the high price of this globe. I think MOVA would, um, move a lot more of these if the price were closer to $100.But the MOVA is the most stunning of these auto-revolving globes I've seen, so if you want one, you just have to pony up. With limit funds, it was hard to pick a favorite.Maybe in a future version since light passes through into the globe itself to a solar cell, they could design it to store some of that energy into a battery or charge the battery using a wireless charging design where the base is the wireless charger. Then when the ambient light is low or dark outside the globe, then the globe would light up evenly internally as it spins, kind of like a night light effect.Anyhow I am happy with what I have.
