It looks like the biggest advance is the colored LEDs to indicate charge status for each cell, which the standard version doesn't have. Even the old original eneloop chargers could detect the full status and stop charging, and charge each cell individually regardless of size. The color changes and extra words are mostly just for marketing, it seems. **Q: Will this charger stop charging the batteries once they are fully charged? If so, can I leave the batteries in the charger?** A: Yes, the charger stops charging when it detects the batteries are fully charged. You can safely leave the batteries in it after the light turns off, but there is no reason to do so. This charger does not "float" or "trickle" charge batteries left in it after it detects they are fully charged. **Q: i have a new Panasonic charger and I am having a hard time getting the AAA into the charger.Afraid to push to hard..?what's the story with Pro line** A: I had a tough time figuring this out too. Put the (-) end in first into the bottom deeper well then tip the (+) end in BUT when done correctly they will look like it is leaning and not straight up like the AA's. It doesn't really "click" in. There is a picture of it in the manual that it comes with.
